what if you had two suitors who are very persistent... one of another race or nationality and the other of your same nationality.. who would you choose given that you both like them?

It is very unlikely that all things could be equal with both. But for the sake of this question lets say that they are. I would choose the one who had the background nearest to mine. It is my opinion and observation that good and lasting relationships are the EASIEST built when couples have the same religious, cultural and economic background. Couples find enough to disagree about with out adding the stress of different beliefs pertaining to religion, culture, and economics. This is not to say that good relationships can't be built with these differences because they are every day. But, you stated "given that you liked them both equal". Given this choice I would take the one with the highest odds to succeed.

Why should it matter their race or nationality? All that should matter is who is more compatable. I'm filipina and my husband is caucasion. However, I've dated only one other filipino, black guys, white guys, and many other nationalities, but I didn't date them because of their race. I dated them because I like them.

I feel you do not "choose" to fall in love but that it happens. If you base your love on nationality(or any other form) then that would be a form of prejudicism. But true love comes straight from the heart. You can not control when you fall in love and who with.It is an emotion that will determine your next moves.

The heart doesn't choose color or race just love. I would choose the person that I felt closest to regardless of what nationality they are. My husband is not of the same race. But I don't love him and less and feel that are relationship is very strong.

The nationality of someone would never be a deciding factor for me when chosing between two poeple. There would be no difference between them. I would have to find some other way to choose.
