This recipe is so easy to adapt to your own likes and dislikes. You can add or take away from the ingredients and create a new cereal bar with each recipe. You can use almonds and almond flavoring, or walnuts and maple flavoring. You can also substitute some of the new chocolate peanut butters for a totally different taste. Your flavors are only limited by your imagination. Enjoy and let me know how you like it. Microwave Nutty Cereal Bars 1 cup white sugar 1 cup white corn syrup 1 cup peanut butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 6 cups Rice Chex cereal 1 cup peanuts Put sugar and syrup into a large glass bowl and microwave on full power until bubbly. Cook 30 seconds more. Stir. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir again. Add cereal and peanuts, combining well. Pour into a buttered 9x13 pan. When it is almost cooled cut into 3-inch squares. Makes about 18 bars.

Microwave cooking is the type of cooking for me. ha ha I am so busy, I love recipes that I can do in the microwave to cut the time. This is not something I am allowed to eat. But I am sure that it is something that my kids would like. They love Rice Chex!!!

Chex products - Chex have always been a favorite at our house.
I will check this out to see if I can make it so that my allergic friend can eat it. Have to look at the ingredients on the cereal box. Then I will use honey or molasses instead of the corn syrup. If I cannot make it work for her, then we will just have to eat them all ourselves. LOL
