I don't feel comfortable saying an amount but I did very well this year which was much needed. It is always nice to get money back from the government

H & R got sued last year for messing up taxes. They are not that hard to do. So save some money and double check them yourself. Also check and see how much H & R took for themselves. We will be getting a healthy chunk of change back this year. The other way to figure of the top of your head is, was federal withholdings more or less than about 10% of your totally gross income.

well, we've been going to Jackson Hewitt for the past 4 years for our taxes. we actually got slightly more this year arounf $3000, which isn't that bad because my husband is the only one who works. we would have gotten more if we didn't do the refund anticpation loan so we got it in like 2 days after filing. i thought H & R block was supposed to be really good and the try & get you the most you can get...weird. maybe it might just be the person. i know last year we had a girl who just started there and we were the first taxes she was doing after training...needless to say, it was hard and she screwed up my name and we had to go back several times.

It's a pity you didn't get much. We got around $3000, so it was cool. The year before it was even more:)

You can have them checked by someone else or even go online to the irs website and file through one of their companies and just stop before you actually have to file it a lot of them let you know the amount long before you actually file it. i am taking classes for this in about two weeks so I will try to keep you updated.
