How do you add oil while cooking?

Do you add all the oil at the same time. In this case the amount of oil which we use may be in excess. Or do you add oil in small quantities at different stages and at different times.

When adding oil, my Mum always said that the wok should be dry. In fact, we heat the wok to make sure any minute water particle is gone before adding the oil slowly. Subsequently if you need more oil, just add when necessary. Shouldn't be an issue I think! :P

Depends what I am cooking. I will tend to use a little less, and add it slowly, if I need more.

It would usually depend on what I am cooking. Most of the time I just add a little oil and if more is needed during the cooking process, then I will add a little more. I don't like the food to be too greasy and I certainly don't like to have to clean burned grease splashes from the cooker when I have finished.

I cook on the stove and I put my oil in the pan and get it heated before I add any food to it. I just put enough food in the pan and try not to over fill the food up with the amount of oil that I started cooking with. I recently bought a deep fryer and it tells you how much oil and exactly how much food to add to it so you don't over fill or come out with greasy food.

I hardly cook these days, but I have cooked for 3-4 years for myself and ,at times, for friends ,too. Mine was a trial an error process at 21.Most of the times I added the oil at one go,but not too much. So,if it was necessary ,I added later again. It depends on what I am cooking. For some items I prefered to add in little quantities 2 or 3 times.I am not a great cook ,but I can manage well.

I start with my cooking with less oil as I desired.I watch out whether that recipe is going to finish with the less quantity of oil or needed some more.If I feel like to add some more I will because I dont want to spoil the taste of the recipe. For fried food I will use paper towel to obsorb the excess oil.
