I have been suffering with TMJ for a few years now. It got really bad last summer after I had a tooth removed..I was in severe pain for months even after I had my doctor give me an injection into my jaw. I have been ok for the last several months but just had a flareup about a month ago...it's been pretty rough living with this condition again. Anyone else have this? What do you do to live with and ease the pain?

I have this. It is horrible. I get such terrible headaches that wrap around most of my head. I take nsaids and sometimes I will put cold packs on my head. Sometimes eating something cold like ice cream slowly helps.

I usually use heat the stop the muscle spasms. Cold can make the spasms worse. Thanks for the input.

I tend to be backwards LOL. Like many women use heat when they have cramps - makes me hurt more.

I use to work for a doctor and he treated people with this illness. The only thing you can do is getting an inject and taking some pain medicine. Im sorry to hear you have this. Hope you feel better.

thanks for your kind words. I do take Aleve...the bad thing is my insurance doesn't cover TMJ. I had to pay $750.00 cash the last time I was treated. I am currently out of work because of this TMJ. I was in such bad shape last summer I lost my job.
