my little timmy is sick!

I recently transferred Timmy and Tammy, giant gouramis (my dad thought they were golden gouramies but when I made a research they turned out to be giant gouramies) to bigger tanks. Each of them has their own. They have hemorrhagic septicemia, commonly called fin and tail rot, caused by bacteria. I've already started their treatment and I hope all goes well. They have stopped eating though. I'm very worried. But I'm praying both of them will get better, Tammy's fins have already shown improvement after 3 days of treatment. After this travail I'll have them both on preventive medication for parasites, fungi, and septicemia. I never want them to experience this again. Perhaps if I can understand their language I would hear their pain, it does look so painful. I guess my dad just thought of them as decoration, something nice to have in the house. But I've taken them under my custody. It's funny. I never thought I'd feel so much for them as I hated them initially.
