No matter what i do i cant keep clothes on my nearly 3 year old son. Thats IF i can get them on him in the first place! Its a huge fight, with alot of screaming. Which generally results in him naked again. His clothes fit, are soft, clean, warm, there are no tags, i cut them off... There isnt anything i can think of that would bother him and yet he hates clothes. Anyone else have a situation like this?

I think all kids go through a naked stage. My son did it as a small child and I think my daughter is starting to go through it too. You just have to keep up the fight to keep the clothes on him. Maybe even give him a time to be naked. Tell him that he can be naked before bedtime. That might help him to want to keep his clothes on throughout the day.

Its all about the nature of the child ,it is a normal thing that any baby perform like that. You should get him baggy clothes with inner wears it may be helpful to you. Ultimately you should divert his mind to another activities sothat he coudn't concentrate on his clothing.

I have a 2 year old who much prefers to be without clothes as well. Only thing is he's not potty trained, and will take his diaper off as well! At 3 you might try telling him big boys wear clothes, or that to be like Daddy he has to wear clothes (unless Daddy doesn't wear them around the house either)

LOL, that's too funny because I have the same problem with my 2 year old daughter. It's really annoying when I have some where to go and she strips down before I have a chance to make it out the door. My older kids always give me a hard time (in a good way) because I am forever chasing her around to put her pants back on. I tell her Daddy, he's going to have problems with her when she's a little older. Not only does she like to strip down but she likes dancing on the table! It's a never ending battle.

My son was also like that, seems its more the little guys than girl, coz my girl loved to dress up... I cant say that I cured my son from hating clothes, but I would put out at least 3 outfits and let him choose, I told him that he was now a big boy and that mommy didnt need to chase him around the house, I think its the conflict he knew he could cause by acting out when it came time to dress...once I laid out one of his sisters dresses, he noticed right away and said, theres no way me is wearing a girl dress!...and another time thats exactly what he wore...lol..he liked feeling grown up by picking clothes out himself..once he picked it out, I offered help getting it on, most times he said no and he would struggle with getting it on, especially the socks, so if you are planning on going somewhere he wont be ready in time if he has to do it himself...he always mixed and matched his clothes, but he felt pretty good about himself and I would always praise him for a job well done, it certainly cut down on the daily run around the house screaming marathons...hope this helps...

Was your son like this when he was a baby? My son is 16 months old and everytime we try to dress him, he flops around like a fish and tries to escape. LOL! I guess I know what I have to look forward to, huh?

yes my 3yr old loves to run away naked too. So I tell no its bad to run around naked let me help you get your shirt back on. If he's no like he does at times I just take one of his privalages away for the day, like reading at bedtime, or watching a movie tonight. It works the next day he don't throw it fit he lets me help him put his shirt on.
