Do you prefer the city or living out in the country?

I currently live in the country and sometimes I would rather live in the city. I need to travel 25 miles to find larger stores that carry certain products that I need. Also it can get very boring out here with the lack of places you can go to to relax or hangout. It does have it's benefits such as how peaceful and relaxing it is out here. I guess I just wish their was some more excitement from time to time. Do you live in the country? If you do what are your reasons for living their, what benefits do you enjoy? What are some of the activities you do to entertain yourself.

I love my city but sometimes living here is so damn hard..I sometimes envision myself living in the country, with fresh air, luscious vegetables, nice garden.. and sometimes, foods and amenities there are a lot cheaper

I would love to live in the countryside, as that has been my first love. I love the lush greenery. the sound of the chirpping birds, the flowing rivers, the blue mountains and fresh air around to bloom and blush. I love trekking in the wild and camp out there

Of course I would prefer living in the city. It is so inconvenient and boring to live in the country side, you need to go back to the city to do most of the things like shopping, or going to work, go to school, etc. What do others think?

Hi,I just came back from my hometown,a samll viliage,2 days ago.As known, sometimes we fill inconvinent with the country life. There are no super markets and also no bus and so on,but we will fell quilt with this case, right?I think country life is good for not more than 5 days, which is for a change, escaping the busy life in a city.

I'm a bit cut in half on this one . I love the city because I can get to everywhere I need to in minutes. But on the other hand I love the country because I love nature and well in the city there's not much of that. At one time I lived in the country, and let me tell you I loved it. We could play our music as loud as we wanted and no one would bother us . Go outside and tan without creepy old dudes lookin out their window at you lol. Yea ok so maybe I like the country more. I just don't like having to travel so far to get to the store.

i think i am more to a city girl rather than country girl since i had lived in the city throughout my whole life... but sometimes, i really want to try to live in a country for a change... i think it will be very relaxing and also healthier... may be when i get older, i will choose to move to a country and spend my pension time there...

I am now living in the suburban area, not far from the city. I would love to live far from the city but it's just too far for me to travel. I work in the centre of city so I would consider live near the city for the easeness of travelling. I have a car though but I leave at home when I work, too expensive to park the car in the city. I came to work everyday by public transport. Maybe someday I would consider it but not too sure yet.

I live out in the country. It's 6 miles to the nearest country market, 12-15 to the nearest grocery store. I drive about 25 minutes to get to work - and actually cross the state line to get to work. I live in a very rural area, but really enjoy it. It may not have all the conveniences, but when you come home you can relax -- it's not that far to drive into town and find all that I need. I lived in NYC for 5 years - and really took advantage of all that too. I think that you would enjoy where you live more if you could live "on the other side" for a while - I grew up on the beach on the gulf coast of Florida, but I always wanted to live in the mountains. It took me a while and I lived in a whole bunch of places, but now I'm where I really love it.

I've been at both ends of the spectrum. I grew up in the country. My parents have a farm and 15 acres of land. We could go camping in our back yard and my parents never heard us no matter how loud we got. Now I live in the city. When I first moved out I though it was great not only was I able to have a pizza deliverd, but had one delivered at 2am. The noise is proably the worst but I currently live in a someone quite area with a lot of elderly and mature people around. It is hard adjusting to such small amounts of land, if any. My parents have a huge riding lawn mower and I have a dinky push mower. My parents take a few days to mowe their lawn, it takes me an hour. My parnets live close to a grocery stor, but have to drive 20 minutes for a good one. I live 5 minutes from the grocery store I like and there is another one on the other side of the city. I think it is all in personal prefernce. If I could afford to I would live in the country somewhere close to a big city. Usally this are very expensive areas.

Living in a city has its own advantages like kids education in better schools, medical faclity etc. But to live in a country side is somethin you would always cherish. The silence and peace in the coutry side is something which you cannot creat in the city. I woudl alwasy prefer to live in the coutry side if I am given an option of the two.

I live just outside the city limits. I like it here because it's not as loud. On nice evenings I enjoy going out and sitting by the pond and hearing the frogs. I think that being in the city is just to noisey. Now if I want to do any major shopping I have to drive about 20 miles to get to a bigger city. I really don't mind it though. Another thing about being in the country, is that you have more privacy. If you want to go outside in just your pjs you can. You don't have people on top of your every movement.

I consider myself a suburbanite.... I like the convenience of my favorite stores and restaurants close by without the noise and hustle and bustle and congestion and crime of the city. I don't like bugs, snakes, or mice which keeps me from moving to the country. I am not one for menial work and getting my hands dirty either. I guess I am spoiled, I want my cake and eat it too! hehe

I live in the city and have always wanted to live in the country. I try to get out there as much as possible. The problem would be that I would need a better car to drive all those extra miles to work. And, there won't be easy access to many stores and businesses I use on a daily basis. As for excitement, I never needed any. In fact, too much noise and stress impacts an illness I have. I would like to live in the country so that I wouldn't have to be exposed to everyone elses daily life. I think I would appreciate people more out there, too.

I have done both. I lived in the city for 8 years grew up and now moved back to the country. The convenience in the city is great, such as getting food or groceries or partying all hours of the night and day. But I have children now and I felt that the city offered more dangers for them compared to what the larger schools could do to help them. Not to say that there are no dangers with living in the country but they are significantly reduced. Also, the ability to have more ground, less taxes, my own garden, pets, and livestock are major factors.

I love living in the city and the convenience is fabulous, but sometimes it can start feeling claustrophobic, especially since I live in a university residence where it's really hard to escape people you know! Still, I'd probably complain about being so far from the city if I lived outside it, so I should just count my blessings!
