I know that this is a hot topic, but do you still feel like racism goes on in this world?

yes. in my area there are alot of racial issues. People around tend to think of the white people as being the discriminators but its the other way around in my town. Natives are the ones who do alot of the terrorizing, teasing people for not being native, or as its often put, your forgin because your not native and whatnot. Racism is huge in the world. So many people look down on other people for silly things, the color of their skin, the place they were born... sadly i dont think its something that will ever go away.

That is how it is where I live. In California, racism varies from city to city. In Glendora, La Verne, and Claremont, whites and Asians discriminate against non-whites and non-Asians, and in Pomona, Montclair, and Azusa, Latinos discriminate against everyone.

Yes, I believe racism goes on. There will always be those who hate or feel superior to others based on race/

I know it still happens in this world and i think it always will. My reason is because someone will always feel superior over others. Parents will always tell their children who they can or cannot play with. There will never be a shortage of ignorant people no matter what color. Take care Rogue.

That happened to me when I was younger, if my friends were not Asian, white, or half-white, my step-father would tell me they were no good. Well, I had one white friend who wanted to be black and presented herself as a black woman, and my family told me to stay away from her.

Absolutely!! It most definately goes on and chances of it ever ending or stopping any time soon are pretty much slim to none IMO...

True, but their are more people racially mixed now and their are more cities and suburbs turing into melting pots. Do you think their may be a chance of racism going away in ten, maybe twenty years?

Yes it is. I know many white people who are like that sadly, and I have to put them in their place at times.

Yes it is still a huge problem in this world. Racism from all sides actually. It seems like there are some in each race that hate others that are not of their race. It's not just one against the others like many believe. It's not just white supremecy but racism happens in other races besides just white. There are some blacks that are racist towards whites, or orientals etc. It's sad but it does happen. We need to learn to look beyond the color of skin and see the person not the race. Until that happens racism will continue.

Exactly, racism is still major issue. Today, when I went to Huntington Beach, my club members (I am part of Anime and RPA at my college) and I brought up the issue of race. I could not help but here how Jews and Black point the finger at everyone, but themselves for their problems. Slavery did not just happen to the Jews and the Blacks, many people have been slaves. The people in my family were once slaves, but we have moved on from it and we have stopped pointing the finger.

Yes, unfortunately I think so. There are many forms of racism today, people against blacks, people against muslims, people against jews, people against gays, people who hate women, etc. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transfobia, and so on. I am not optimist for the future, we should teach our children not to be racist, and the respect for the other, it's only a question of education, but unfortunately people tend to teach their kids a lot of racist commonplaces....

Racism is alive and well, unfortunately. As long as people can't put their minds around the concept that we all bleed the same color it will always exist. I think to a certain extent it may have even evolved. A few decades ago it was predominately a white vs. black thing, but more and more you see blacks discriminating towards whites, which I am sure has always been the case, it's just more on the forefront now. And it's not even a skin color issue. Religion plays into it as well, as it has for centuries.

True, racism can also be rooted in religion.
