Diamonds are forever or for not?

I'm just curious which gift women appreciate more, something shiny/sparkly that they can don around their neck, upon their finger, or from their ears, or a gift from the heart such as a poem or cute little charade? Can the latter be more easily forgotten? Is it corny for a grown man to provide his love interest with such petty little antics?

Diamonds for me because you can flaunt it. Poems, only you and the writer know about. A ring is something else!

So, the idea is to flaunt the love present within the relationship, or to flaunt the tangible items that one receives within a loving relationship? Would you be as proud with a locket around your neck containing your lover's picture as you would, say, a 3 karat ring?

would you be mad if you found out your 'to die for' ring was a forgasi (a fake)?
