If you have been to France, what did you like most and least about it?

I loved the food. However, I was in some really nice restaurants with great food but when I looked down on the floor there were tons of cockroaches. I have not been there since 1977. Someone I just talked to who had been there recently said Paris has a foul smell.

I've been in France several times (8 I think). I've visited Paris (duh!), Lyons, Marseilles, Nice, Cassis, Toulouse, Toulon, Sens, Dijon and Perigeux. I also quickly saw Bordeaux, Biarritz and Aix-en-Provence. However, what I've REALLY enjoyed was the Pyrenees and the Alps, awesome. It really worths it!

You should write discussions on your trips. I would love to read them.

I went there with my family in 2001 and I loved it! The eiffeltower was huge hehe I loved Paris but I hated the fact that it was so many thiefs circulating that particular aread. I'm not at all used to that since I'm Swedish. The coast is so beautiful and the beaches*dreams away*

i've been to france and it was really nice :) i liked going to the louvre and shopping in nice. we also went to the red light district. the city plan of paris is a sight to behold atop the eiffel tower. the only thing i didn't like about my stay in france was the slow service in the restaurants.

I was there in 2001. I didn't think it was any dirtier than any other big city, except you have to watch where you walk due to the dog $hit on the sidewalks. What I loved the most was Paris, (the louvre) and when I went to all the WW1 and WW2 sites.

This is so true. They let the dogs in the restaurants and malls. They actually have people there cleaning it up as you shop.

I got very ill in rural France by eating some kind of weird looking cheese and meat. I was also very depressed since I had just left England, where everyone seemed so polite. In Paris, nobody seemed to care about just being nice. Maybe it was because we were "tourists" but I just think they weren't enjoying themselves as much.

Be careful about what you eat wherever you go. I did encounter nasty people, too. Very few were nice.

I haven't been there but I hope when I visit my daughter in the UK, the end of the year, that we will have time to go there. She does most of her shopping there so most probably when I come back I will visit your post again and have more to say:)

I've been to Strasbourg 3 times, and Metz once. It's true food in France is wonderful. I haven't seen cockroaches though, good thing!

Of course, you love your country. I love mine, too. I only had enough time to visit Paris. All countries have their pluses and their minuses.

I have traveled extensively, and France was definitely one of the more memorable trips. People often believe the French hate Americans and are rude to visitors. I have never experienced this while visiting France. I'm sure it helps that I speak French, but I have always found the people to be welcoming and helpful. I loved visiting the many historic places in France like the Louvre. Monte Carlo and Nice are beautiful, and there are many small, charming towns that were fun to explore. I can not really think of anything I didn't like or enjoy while in France.

I live in France. Orléans. What do I think of it? One of my blogs is called: http://rozier-orleans-diary.blogspot.com Perhaps you will find my answer in that. You are a far too complicated people to describe in a few lines. I'm still here after 30 years so perhaps there must be something.
