a lot brand out there and they are very good too but I used HP InkJets for years, until they started making them cheap with poor quality. So I've switch to Canon. Here's why. 1. Color is awesome. I know professional photographers that swear by the color. 2. The ink is cheapter. Get a model with the three separate colors. You won't waste ink when just one color runs out. 3. Canon inkjet printer pauses for you to change an empty cartridge, then resumes printing. 4. The Canon printers that I have seen, seem very reliable. The paper feeds well, and keeps on working. With the Canon that I am actually using, I've never had a paper jam, like my old HP would sometimes have. It isn't the cost of the printer that kills you, it's the ink. Go to STAPLES and look for the Canon PIXMA iP4300

I don't know what could be wrong. I have a Lexmark and love it. I had one that was 7 or 8 years old and upgraded about a year ago to another Lexmark. I have never had a problem with them.
