Do you type with all your fingers laid down on the keyboard or with just using index fingers from both hand? i started out with the index fingers but later on i got used to it that i can type now with my fingers laid out and it really is much more efficient and faster this way.

when it was my first days here in mylot, i used to be typing with my index fingers. one day, my dad asked me to write him the apartments rules for the people living there and he saw me type. he told me to try and type with all my fingers, and so i did. now, it is easy for me to type with all my fingers.

Yes, I could type using all my fingers and without looking at the keyboard. You should always practice the proper way of typing. Just keep on participating in discussions and make sure you practice the proper way of typing. If you do this, you practice you typing, you earn, and you also practice your English communication skills.

I type with two hands. I took a typing course in highschool and actually type much slower if I try looking at the keyboard and only using two fingers.

I type quite well with both hands, not looking at the keyboard. Since I'm usually nursing the baby or doing other things while surfing, I mostly use an On Screen Keyboard and a trackball mouse. That is slooooowwww typing!

yeah, I agree to that. When I started typing, not all of my fingers are typing, but spending more time typing will develop your typing speed and efficiency. I did not even realize I can type with all of my fingers without looking at the keyboard. Learning the correct position of the fingers sure helps your typing style.

I'm typing using my two hands and without looking at the keyboard. I am very used to typing because of my job. I'm in front of the computer all day coding. But my typing skills still have a witness, I still look at the keyboard when I need to type symbols located above the numbers. If you need to learn how to type fast, I suggest you download a typing tutor application. This will help you improve you typing skills. You could also improve your typing skills here in MyLot. Every time you compose a discussion or a respond make sure you use the proper way of typing. I'm sure in a few weeks time you'll notice that your typing skills is improving.

I was taught many years ago at high school to type with both hands and fingers on the proper keys so when I got my first computer a few years back I did try my best to go back to this. I do find it easier to type using both hands but I will admit I do look at the keys. My fiancé on the other hand is a finger typer and he can type just as fast if not faster than me at times, he has tried using both hands but says he finds it easier and more comfortable his way.

I got a training on touchtyping before. So now, I have to use all my fingers when typing. I will not be able to type fast enough if I don't do this. It seems to take forever, I tried it once when my one hand was holding something, I had to stop because it got me nowhere.

I type with my hands/fingers in their proper positions. As a matter of fact, after taking a keyboarding class in high school, typing became such an obsession for me that I "air-type" (kind of like air-guitar!). I type when someone is talking to me, when I am listening to music, or watching TV, and even while I'm driving. The license plate on the car in front of me gets typed over and over on my steering wheel as we're going down the road. A lot of times, that is how I am able to remember telephone numbers or something like that, by typing it. Yes, strange, I know, lol.

I remember when I was in high school, there was computer class. And one of the semesters, we had to take the typing lesson, I still remember the software we used was "Typing Tutor". I learnt the basic of typing from there, using both hands and placed the fingers appropriately on the keyboard. Now I can type with all my fingers laid down on the keyboard without looking at the keyboard, but when it comes to those special characters & numbers on top of the keyboard, I need to look at the keyboard to search for the key, as I seldom use these keys. :p
