Do you miss "the old days"?

Winter in the old Bucharest - I am also a hopeless dreamer and I love the inter-war period. This is a picture taken in 1935...that says more than any of my words can say

I know that every generation has its "golden days",and everybody has something that they miss...no matter the age. I was going through some old pictures and I realised that, despite of the thing that I am quite young,I miss a lot of things from different periods of time.I miss friends who unfortunatly, passed away..I miss going to drink some hot wine(cinnamon included) with other friends who now are married...I miss the '80s music........... What do you miss from the old days?

Oh, I miss so much about the old days...When I was growing up, there were no talk of child molesters, or worrying about the kids playing outside... I miss not having bills :), I miss my great-grandparents who passed away 13 years ago, I miss the biggest game system that ever hit, the "Atari" lol.. Playing outside with my friends from early morning until it started getting dark, dodge ball, climbing trees, hide and seek, some of my favorites... There were no cell phones, computers (at least it wasn't big in our family), all the different game systems.. I miss Disney World (when you could stay in Orlando, Fl and go to all the attractions for under 100..lol Things were so much more cheaper back then... Fishing, bike riding with my friends etc etc.. I can go on and on... Those my friend were the good ole days..and I truly miss them....

excellent discussion by the way. Gosh what do i miss, well to start off with I miss my youth and my health. I can't stay up all night and go to work the next day like I used to. Now I need my sleep and more of it. I can't walk or even remember things the way I used to. At one time you just had to tell me your phone number once and I would remember it for 20 years. Now if I don't write it down with your full name I won't remember it or you. I miss having dogs, they were the highlight of my life. I miss avon's older fragrances, to a wild rose, and here's my heart creme sachet. I miss catelli spaghetti and separate box can of meat sauce together in the same box. I miss going to the mountain with my friends who no longer live in montreal, I miss my college days, I made some really nice friends there. I miss the amusement park that no longer exists. I miss my very first apartment I had when I first got married.

I am sory, but I couldn't help laughing when I read the "write down or I'll won't remember you" part :))) It's good to remember the past sometimes, isn't it? I wish you all the health in the world...and I will write to Avon to complain about their new products. :) Thank you for bringing some smile around here.

i just swayed back into time, those were the golden days of my life, when i was a kid during holidays we (my sis, brother and myself) used to go to our farm, it was lot of fun, that was the time when we used to sleep outside and watch the stars, play lot of games, go to our fields, enjoy sunset, rob raw mangoes from orchards, even go to jungle (forest) to just eat ber (a fruit, zizyphus), now its a long time i havent gone there because finally my parents decided to sell it due to terriorism, and the other thing i miss is my sister's son who was living with us, it was great and most memorable days of my life, i just wish he could be with me but i know that's not possible, i just love him a lot.

I was counting on you, dear friend,to join me in this "turn back in time".:)(big hug) I am so sory that you had to sell that place. You do know how to spread your love all around you :)I don't have any brothers or sisters, but my beloved cancerian does...and I see how much she misses them and her nephew. All that you describe makes me see your beautiful country through your eyes. Thank you so much for sharing some of your dearest memories with me.

I do miss "the old days". I miss my childhood a lot, especially lately. I miss when the most important thing in my life was if so-and-so and I were friends or not. I miss romping around the neighborhood, exploring. I miss my creative and innocence. I miss being as physically active as I was - always on the go go go. I miss sleepovers and being with friends every day. Ah, the golden days of my life.

80's hair - This is not me but face has been removed to protect the innocent.
I went through my teens in the 80's. I miss much of the 80's. Ok some of the clothes and hair were insane - but heck they were fun LOL. I miss the music. I get happy when I hear a modern remake of an 80's song; means that more people get to hear it. Thing is I am usually unhappy with the remake. *sigh* can't have it all I guess.

I love Cyndi! She is so great!! I kinda miss 80's hair my hair is curly so it has a natural tendency to be big. Since big hair went out of style I have had issues with my hair.

You shouldn't worry about your hair.A little birdie told me that curls and wavy hair is not out of style. And Europe....well...european women are wearing curly hair from last year.SO...I say: leave your hair as pretty as it is natural, and if anyone has something to say about it ...you shut their mouthes with "IT'S EUROPEAN STYLE!" PS:the little birdie is my beloved one(who just came home from some hair styling seminary) so I think you can trust her.hhehe

Hehehhe...yes,I know...I hear those remakes too..and the first thing I say is "there is something wrong with this song" :)) I had a nice laugh seeing that picture...but you know what? It's not bad...comparing to what Cindy Lauper used to wear in the 80's. :)))

oh yes I do miss the old days! I miss being a kid and having no worries (finances mostly) just being able to play all the time and Christmas and birthday parties- it's ironic because when you are a kid you just want to grow up and don't just enjoy it as much as you should.

I miss the "old days" as well. For me the old days were th 1980's and 90's. when the simplest things in life would make me happy. I try to do little things to remind me of that innocence I had as a child. I'll get an icee or a candy that i enjoyed as a child or drive by a certain place. I can also talk to friends I've known for years and we reminisce about our childhood.

i miss my family from the old days as i have lost all my aunties and uncles as well as my mum and dad. i am not one for looking in the past but if i could have a time back it would be maybe in the 70's, going out for drinks with friends and everything seemed simple and the music was great and so where the fashions - honest!!

Yes,the 70's were great, weren't they?I am more an '80's person so I don't know how to comment about the fashion...I found it funny when I look at some old Boney M or ABBA clips. But it was an unusual and particular style, and I can undertand why you miss it. I am terribly sory for your losts.Accept my sincere condolences. Thank you.

Yeah we miss some old days for example like our school days college life if are staying alone then you are going to miss the days you spent with your family. Even your friends after your college life you are going to be placed in different places or may be into different professions. ALways thinking like this will hurt our heart and distracts our mind and we may lose concentration. So its better not to remember those at the time of work. In free times these can be allowed.

Umm.. *sniff* a nostalgic theme here, eh? I may be a few years older than you but I am not that old either. :P I do miss the times when I was a weeny kid. You know? Those times when you don't know anything yet don't *need* to know anything? Life was carefree (though you want to grow up faster only to realise that this wish was a big mistake :P). For me, it wasn't really any tangible thing I missed - rather, it is the intangible state of mind that strikes a chord with me. *sniff*

oh, even a slight event can sometimes bring back a flood of memeories. a face you see in the crowd, an old film song, certain smells can trigger a avalanche of thoughts that can seemingly make the mind go back to the past as it were...as for me, i do miss the good ole' movies of yore where the script was given much importance not the set designs and special effects.. i miss the less crowded streets, the green cover that pervaded as opposed to the concrete jungle life has now become..i could fill in pages but then change i guess is the only constant there is in this world, so lets accept things as they are and move on..
