Nothing wrong with you at all. Some people have genes that make it easier to gain weight and hold onto fat. In the past, this was a good thing. It meant that, in times of famine, you could survive. You would also have more energy stores to keep physically active during times of little food. But, with today's more sedentary lifestyles, such a gene becomes a disadvantage with excess weight and health problems. I know I work out very hard and eat very healthy, yet I hold onto extra fat. I see other women working out only half as much and consume a lot more calories and are very fit looking. Also, you may not know what that other people do while you're not around. They could be purging or taking pills to keep their weight down.

There's nothing wrong with you the things is that even though you are linked by the same genes your metabolism is different from your brother. My husband just looks at food and gains 5 pounds were as his brother seems to be eating all day long and maybe gains a pound. It frustrates him because he is always watching his weight. Although he is not fat i think he worries about one day if he can't work out that it will happen.

I have the same problem. I eat very little, yet my brother and sisters eat at least twice what I eat and don't gain the weight I have gained. It has been a constant battle for me to loose weight, while I watch others around me eat large amounts of food, while I eat meager amounts. It is really frustrating, but I guess we have to get used to it. It is all in the way our bodies handle the food we consume.

It depends upon the metabolism of the individual. The person who is gaining more weight must be having more enzymes, which would enhanse the speed if diegestion. The energy which is gained by food is stored in form of fat in body, the person is not useing that energy,so is gaining weight.the, person who is useing fat by exercise would be of less weight.
