the table or in the living room in front of the tv??? My husband and I were talking the other day and we said we have no idea why we have a dining room table we never sit at it (maybe we should replace it with a small pool table and then we cold cover it with wood if we have family over for dinner)...lol. Our kitchen is too small to have table and chairs so it's the only one we have, but we always eat in the living room and watch a movie or the news while we eat.. what do you do?

We usually eat supper in front of the television and I pretty much hate it. I can't stand the television as it is anyway. Sometimes we will eat at the table if I can talk my husband into doing it. He likes to watch television while he is eating and he says the chairs at the dining room table hurts his back when he sits on them. I think it is nice every once in a while to sit at the table and eat and relax and talk. Maybe, light a candle or two also.

We all eat together at the table for Sunday Lunch. It was what my mother did with us as kids. During the week, we'd eat when we got home from School and then my parents ate later. But without fail, every Sunday, we all sat together for a full Sunday Roast. So now I find myself doing the same thing. The kids eat when they get in from School, and they do their homework at the table whilst I cook for myself and my partner. We eat in the living room after the kids have gone to bed. Likewise, if we have friends over for dinner, we all eat at the table - including the kids. I feel its important to teach them how to sit at the table and what the do's and don't are. The earlier they're taught the better.

Pretty much the same as you two! Our dining room table only gets used when I cook a big lunch on Christmas Day, and if I have my Dad over for the weekend, because he is of the generation that doesn't approve of eating off trays in front of the TV. But if it's just the two of us we curl up on the sofa, and watch the News, or the sport!

thats why if we got a pool table- and a nice piece of wood we could cover it to double as a table for company...lol..might work!

My kitchen also is too small for a table and chairs but has a big breakfast bar instead, and from the bar the view opens into the living room where we have a 32 inch TV and of course we gather around the bar in a way that we can see the TV. I know its horrible and my mother is screaming at me this very minute from her resting place because that is not how we were raised. LMAO But we are all kinda TV freaks with very special shows we like to watch so there it is. But now in our defense alot of conversation goes on around the bar too.

we love watching tv too- we tape some shows that are on late so we can watch them at dinner time, it's good cause then we avoid commercials...lol... but we can also pause and talk about it then turn it back on. you're right it is bad, but why not enjoy yourself and do what you want - life is too short!

that sounds like our situation. We have a small house and the kitchen is quite small and the dining room is average size. we only eat in the living room since the cat always bugs us if we eat in the diningroom since she sleeps there too.

I do prefer to eat my meals at my desk in front of the TV but if the kids are eating too then we all eat at the table. Well that isn't strcktly true, in the mornings they eat a tthe table and I eat at the worktop while I'm making the lunches.

we always eat at the dining table . . . me & my husband do turn off the TV when we eat dinner or sometimes just leave it open 'coz we can just hear the volume or sound of it if there's a movie that we are watching but as much as possible no TV while eating .

Usually we always eat at the dinner table.. It doesn't matter if it's just the 2 of us or if my daughter is home too. We do have the rare night of eating in front of the tv.. Usually pizza night- Dinner is the time we talk about how our day was.. and really chit chat. Plus it drives my sig. other crazy when we eat in front of the tv. So it eliminates bickering!

usually when its just me and my boyfriend eating dinner we eat an sit and watch the tv. we also have a table and chairs in our kitchen but we seldom sit in the kitchen. when his friends come round we all sit in the kitchen at the table as his friends are so messy and eat like animals (thats the best phrase for there table manners0. i wont allow them to sit in my living room eating. the exception is that me and my boyfriend are not messy.

I sit in the Living room in front of the Tv and eat. I do not have a Dinning Table and Chairs. I will get a small one eventually but there is no rush because when my Daughter comes to visit we eat in the Living Room to lol. We always have even when I was living at Home we did it.

We always eat in the living room in front of the tv. We have a tiny kitchen so there is no room for a table. There is just enough room for us to walk around in. If we have company we set the table up in the living room. Of course we wouldn't have the tv on.

We always eat at the table. When I was growing up, we always had meals as a family. When I got married, I kept that tradition. Even when our childrend were born. Now that our children are grown, married and on their own. We still eat at the table. It is just a great place to talk and enjoy the meal together.

My beau and I usually sit on the sofa and watch tv too. It's more relaxing and comfortable.
