Moms who don't take time for their kids

Some wealthier mothers are so busy being popular and keeping their image about them that they don't spend time with their kids. They are too busy having their hair or nails done that they are never around the house for their child. To me that says that the mom is to selfish to take time to raise a kid. Who is teaching the children morals and ethics then...the tv, movies, music? This is absurd. If you can't take time to listen and teach your child things you nevers should have been a mom in the first place. I'm not a mother but I was always thaught that it's the parents job to teach morals, ethic, manners ect. I hope the dad is pulling their weight where the mother isn't. All kids need a parental influence to teach us how to grow. How do you feel about this type of situation? Please don't start flame wars over this.

To me it means that they care more about their money. It's not the job of a babysitter to raise your kids. If you are going to have them, it should be you who raises them, teaches them, and spends quality time with them. I understand that people have to work, but that doesn't mean that you leave them with a sitter all day and evening. I agree with you that problem problem seems to happen more with the wealthier. I think that they are more worried about spending.

I wouldn't say that rich people are the only peoople that spends no time with their children. Regular people neglect the time that should be spent with their children as well. Some can help it and some just can't help it. I will admit that I am one who does not spend as much quality time with my child like I want to, due to my situation. I am a single parent, now. I am trying to take care of bills, job, a newborn, and still have time for my oldest. So, it's hard. Any extra time that I have available definitely goes on my kids, though. On the other hand, I am a teacher and reconize kids who really get no attention at home. It's sad because those are the kids that act up, fight, do no homework, and fail every test. You can tell that they have no home training, manners and definitely no ethics.
