Wow Iol_w0w, this your "desperate" message reminds to me the time in which I went to school and how I got bored.... I was forced to study in a kind of school that I didn't like and so everything was very hard to me. I wanted to study art, but my parents didn't want, so now that I'm old I'm going to picture lessons and I'm wasting a lot of money.... The only thing that I can tell you is that education, culture, are very important and so you should clench your teeth and go on studying, you could study a little if you hate studying, but you should try to study at least a little....

U have to keep on, there's no other choice believe me, I was like u I didn't loved to be in school I had problems in my teenage years and now am paying the price, just keep on studying if u were one of the top students it means u still can make it it's only 2 years and it passes by so fast believe me u won't regret it.

hey you sound like me when I was at school, I can honestly say I hate every minute at school and I don't think I learnt much, I wasn't interested in studying what they were teaching, I think there is a lot of things they should only just tell you about that you don't have to study, I know for a fact I just wasn't reading to learn, and I think this differs with everyone, I couldn't study either, I got the hunger to learn when I was in my 20's and I learnt the important things like good old common sense from my parents not from school..maybe you are just not ready to learn either, I wish you well my friend, you will get by....

I think you are distracted by something. How can an intelligent get distracted so easily from studies. And the fight with the teachers is a very common thing, even I have had it many times. But now I miss that fights. At this moment you may hate the school and fight with your teachers, but when you are out of your school and go to your college you will really miss all the fun and then curse yourself for what you had doe there.I am telling this from my own experience. So think upon it and act accordingly. But remember one thing school is not hell but a heaven on land!!!

You should stick it out and keep going. You won't be able to find any jobs unless you finish going to school. You should really make an effort to study and do well, it will really pay off in the future. Trust me, you don't want to work in fast food your whole life.

Well, school can be abit boring, especially when the teacher is boring as well. There are alot of alternatives in learning that is not confine in your books. Why dont you try studying your subject by browsing the net.. find related topics. There are alot of learning materials in the net..Try it. If you continue feeling bad and not doing anything, eventually you will suffer..better find a solution fast. tc

Well, there's nothing very new in what you feel. I must tell you that everybody thinks the same way as you are doing when one is of your age. We dont want to study, dont like going to school and hate almost anything related to studies or school. Bbut when we leave school, we realize the importance of those days. We miss everything from our school life! So, try to change your mind a bit. Enjoy as much as you can at the school because these only are the days that you are going to cherish for long. Also, eventhough you dont like, try to study a bit because you see, there's no life without studies!

Stick with it! I hated school too growing up and never took it seriously. I am now married with three children(much older than willing to admitt) and we struggle pay check to check. I did finish high school, but really regret not taking it more serious. My husband is back in college, but it's very tough on me and the kids. Trust me stay in school and get through it!!

I know your not going to like this but I am a teacher and think education is very important. You have to try and stick it out. I you don't want to be living at home for the rest of your life becouse you can't get a job that pays you well enough to live on your own you will stay in school.

It sounds like you are distracted. What else is going on in your life right now? Education is important; but you may need some help to find out why you're so bored with it. Perhaps it's just a matter of a different approach. Best of luck.

Times have changed a lot even in the 15 years since I've been in school. You all are stressed out at an earlier age and so you hit burn out early. There are so many things that make easy distractions to not studying. As someone who got put on academic suspension, my first year in college (high school was a cake walk and I got out with mostly A's and a few B's), I know that studying and getting good studying habits early are very important. Try scheduling your studying such as from 4-6 pm study and try to make sure you don't have anything to distract you from this. Studying earlier could help too. If you don't allow yourself to do anything but study during that time and make it a habit you should find yourself at least more interested in studying. You could also try to find a study partner. Good luck.

i personally feel that an education is a really important part of a person's life especially in this modren and competitiv socity that we live in. like u said u were once a top student, so maybe all it takes is some reorientation of priorites to get your studies back on track! all the best~!

Maybe you could try thinking about your subjects in a different way. I always found that seeing a practical application of what I was studying would be more inspiring than endless words and numbers. I couldn't be bothered to study in high-school. I had much better things to do. The problem with that was that i got a crappy job (I actually got average grades - good enough to go on to further study) because i couldn't wait to leave school. I always worked hard, thinking that i would 'work my way up'. Loads of people were hired and promoted above me because they had a better education (even though I now know these people and they're no better than me). I'm approaching 30 years old now and I'm still studying to try to get a better job. I know you're probably sick of hearing things like this, but please accept that study is the best way to a good lifestyle in the future. If you don't do it now, you'll just realise later that you wish you had.

I won't repeat the advice of the above posters (OK, I will - education == more choices and money later in life!). But perhaps there is a physical reason for finding it hard to stay focused. There is a lot of research which connects diet with attention and concentration. Omega-3 oils especially have been shown to help with these. Try taking a supplement (or even better getting them from eggs, oily fish, and other natural sources). And try and make sure you get a good, solid breakfast with lots of slow-burn carbs (porridge is perfect! The sugar laden cereals that seem so tasty will just cause your sugar levels to crash again an hour later. Or bacon, egss, and toast. It really IS the most important meal of the day...). Or perhaps exercise. It's telling that you WANT to study but are finding it hard, and so you deserve help in making school less of a struggle. It's still hard work, but then - wait until you get out into the real world! :)

I sometimes feel that boredom too but motivation from family and friends keeps me interested in studying. School's not that bad. You might also want to try studying with your friends. I had a lot of good times studying with my friends. Just be reminded that school's not all about studying.
