Would you tell someone something embarassing to help them save face?

Fly is down - Your fly is open.

What if you saw someone with their fly open or lats say a bogger in their nose. Would you tell them or let them go on walking around like that. If it was me I think I would want to know wouldn't you. I have discretely told people things that might further embarrass them and they have always thanked me for it, usually after a good laugh. I found this thought it was cute. Your Zipper is Down A man walked into a supermarket with his zipper down, and his fly wide open. A lady cashier walked up to him and said, "Your barracks door is open." This is not a phrase men normally use, so he went on his way looking a bit puzzled. When he was about done shopping, a man came up and said, "Your fly is open." He zipped up and finished his shopping, and remembering what the cashier had told him, finally understood. He then intentionally got in the line to check out where the lady was that told him about his "barracks door." He was planning to have a little fun with her. When he reached her counter he said, "When you saw my barracks door open did you see a soldier standing in there at attention?" The lady thought for a moment and said, "No, no I didn't. All I saw was a disabled veteran sitting on two duffel bags."

LOL that was so funny..hehehe, that is a witty cashier:) I wouldn't tell people any such thing. I somehow don't like embarrassing others, I just ignore whatever it is. Even with friends I don't correct them or point out stuff unless they are really really close friends. With my hubby of course I don't hesitate but with others I do. My hubby is like that too. We have a friend who is daring and says things right on their faces. He speaks out what he thinks..lol

This is very good question! I guess if it was me I would want to know but when someone say this to you it may be really embarrassing and uncomfortable. If I see someeone with his fly open or with a bogger in their nose and it is someone I know- I probably tell them. But if it's a stranger that I haven't seen before- I don't think I will say something.

I actually will just secretly or quickly tell him that his fly is open and then quickly change the topic with someone else to avoid him feeling there was something wrong:P I just kind of know how it feels to be embarassed and i dont want them to feel that way too.

Yes I would tell someone about their fly. I would say XYZ because that is what I was taught. It stands for eXamine Your Zipper, hahaha. If that didn't work I would say: Sir, your zipper is open/your fly is down. That joke is very funny, cheers to you. Pablo

If the man is your friend you can say it frankly , but if he is not your pal, leave it alone. Probably sometimes the man can recognize it after a while . It tooks a little time, before he knows.

LOL. the joke is really funny :) as for the subject, I remember I that was told to zip it up :) two times, once it was by a friend and there was other people around and I just said I left it open on purpose because it was a hot day lol we all laughed about it, what is really embarrassing that you find out that you been walking around like this for long talking with people, etc and no one told you.. yes it's better to tell anyone right away and I would want to be told :)

Well, for me I would tell them personally. But I will not say it in public. I will just bring him or her to a private place and tell her that her or his fly is open. In that way they will not get embarassed.

Ha, ha. Who got the last laugh. Yes, BK, I very often inform people if their flys (zippers) are open or that they have boggers in their noses or if they have tissue paper hanging out of their skirts or pants. lol My favorite is to tell a woman that her label is poking out of the back of her blouse. I usually turn the label in myself for the lady while I'm telling her why i'm touching her clothing. But I've noticed most of the time that that same courtesy isn't extended to meconcerning the shirt labels.

Actually I was at a point where I didn't know if I should walk away knowing a lady was being made fun of or not. I was in the mall and I noticed a lady had a big blood stain on the back of her white pants. I also noticed that I wasn't the only one that noticed, well how do you handle that one ? I did approach her and she was mortified. I felt bad for her. I offered to walk real close behind her to the bathroom. She accepted gratefully. I offered to go do shopping for her but she gratefully declined. She asked to use my cell phone, and she called someone to bring her a clean pair of pants and supplies. I would want someone to bail me out, but that was harder than to tell someone their fly was down for me.

Good for you! This is a lot more embarrassing. I was once at the bank the male teller had this big bogger in his nose and all I could look at was this thing fluttering around as he talked to me, I did not say anything then I look down and then up for a moment and it was gone, funny thing is I'm then looking around to see where this humongous thing landed hoping it was not on me. I often laugh about this experience. More at myself because of my reaction to it.

ROTFLMAO! That is funny! I would tell friends about they're embarrasing stuff. I would only tell a stranger if they looked friendly or it was important. For instance, I was driving one day and notice that the car next to me had the gas door open and I waved, got there attention, and when they rolled the window down I told them.

i always tell people if they have something ebarasing going on. Half the time, that is a lot of the fun. You get to see them blush or laugh and you can make a joke of it. Besides, they almost always thank you.

ya..i guess everyone would have come across some situation like this..and the best thing to do would be to tell the person frankly..cut the plant of embarresment when it is small itself,or it becomes a tree..like i imagine this sitution,if i am going to meet my girlfrind's parents, and my fly is open,or there is a tear in my pant..and when i am told about this by them..i would have wished someone, even a stranger could hace just pointed it once...so friends..go ahead and help others..
