Has anyone caught Aces of Cakes?

Duff is the coolest guy. He has a cake shop and also uses his talents with metal work and wood work to help him make his creations. He has a great sense of humor! I really like the show! I just wish they showed more. The half hour seems to go by like crazy!

Oh yes, I watch this show every week and am totally fascinated with the creations they come up with. I even went to their site and cake pictures there are mindblowing! Alice is funny too..lol www.charmcitycakes.com It's a pity there are in Baltimore otherwise I would have gone and checked them out personally. I love to bake and this show has me hooked to it.

On a piece of one of his recent shows, I caught where some kids sent him a video. They had made a cake out of play dough and covered and decorated it to look similar to how he might do it and said they wanted to work for him when they grew up. He thought it was great and laughed in amazement at what they had done. It was cool.

Wow, 5 month old discussion coming back around! I love this show. The cakes he makes are amazing. My hubby said I could do the same cakes, but I have told him I would need classes to do such great work.

I caught one of the first episodes where he made a cake for the Kentucky Derby. I haven't seen many episodes since. He has the best job. It is a amazing what that man can do with a cake.

I love Duff!! I record it every week and my husband and I watch it over the weekends together. He makes me laugh. i first saw him in one of the Food Network challenges and fell in love with him from there.

Yes, his sense of humor and personality is a big part of why he is so cool. I am a cake decorator by profession also, and he shows me it can still be fun and creative. I am really amazed at how he can pick up and carry those fondant-covered 4-tier cakes without any effort. I know how heavy they are! The biggest laugh I got out of the show was a recent one. One of the girls was delivering a 4-tier cake. She had to walk up some steps to a doorway where the door opened outward towards you, propped up one leg on the railing to help support the cake while using her other hand to open the door. I saw that and started laughing and said, Yeah right! I can see our delivery girl doing that with a wedding cake! Ha! Sometimes we send 2 girls to deliver so they can carry it together!

Duff is a hilarious guy, and I'm glad to see Charm City Cakes getting this type of publicity. They deserve it!

I just saw your post. I didn't realize that the show had been on that long. I have no idea how I have missed it. I watch the Food Network all the time.
He is so great. I coulnd't believe when I saw him in a cake competition and he was using real tools.

I DVR all new episodes of that show. I always say my one big femme wedding treat (I don't care about dresses or flowers) will be Duff making and delivering my wedding cake!

I've seen this show and he really is great at making the cakes. I remember one he did for a dog show that had a huge cake designed to look like a big dog. It really looked realistic. He definately has a knack for it.
