... and only have 4 things with you - what do you have? (a boat or raft or plane isn't an option and there isn't a way to get a cable signal or cell phone signal so laptops and cell phones are useless) Myself - I would say: A knife so I could cut things and kill things to eat, a big lighter so I could make a fire to boil water for drinking and to cook my food, a HUGE bad of candy for those late night cravings and my Bible for the times when I've given up and need some guiding words or just something to read when I'm bored.

I would have to have some company or else I would go mad. I would also need a tent or something similar to live in. Some way of making a fire and a tool.

I would need some rope or twine, a pot, matches or a lighter and a knife. Of course I'd have to know how to use those things which I wonder about

Hmmmm..... The first thing would be to bring my friend Dave. He's been through 2 survival camps (the first time was because his parents caught him drunk in high school-they were REALLY strict-and the second time he went just because he had a BLAST the first time! LOL!!!) He loves that kind of thing. AND he's a marine, so that helps! If you know someone who loves to just head out into the woods with nothing but a knife for weeks, they'd be pretty handy! Okay, then I'd want some rope (you somehow always need rope), my North Face wear and a limitless amount of fresh water! Can I do that?? ;) :D

I didn't even think of water, that's the one essential we all need a lot of.

I have to agree with you on the bible and the knife. I would probably bring my wife for companionship and such. Also, a deck of cards. There are tons of games you can play with a deck of cards.

Racolta (prayer book) (I could make a rosary in the sand with stones, or just use my fingers) Blanket Plastic wrap (put the plastic wrap over a vessel and place a weight in the center, allowing it to droop some) put water on top of plastic and the condensation will form and drip into the vessel...you have now got desalinized ocean water) Ax (with an ax I can chop trees for shelter, shape branches into spears for hunting land or water) I am thinking here that we have our basic clothing on when we got deserted....so I have my glasses to magnify the sun to make fire. If I had a 5th item I would choose some means of recording a journal. maybe I could use some charred wood from my fires though, and write on dried bark. or maybe I could make ink from berries and make a quill pen from whatever bird I ate last, hehe.)

cute, hehe, but if you had me it wouldn't clasify as a deserted island anymore, would it? If we could take a person on this hypothetical adventure, I would take MacGyver (sp)

I forgot to mention that the vessel that I will collect the water in is probably made out of a guard or coconut or even a citrus skin (depending on where this island is located)

I have an MRE that you can have! :] Two years ago at Christmas we did a gag gift type of exchange and my husband ended up with an MRE. I won't let him open it though, I'm scared it will make him have the runs for days.
