Did You Love Paper Dolls?

I found a really cute site with virtual paper dolls, mostly celebrities and musicans, that is really fun. My daughter and I play on it. You can create your own "me" doll and dress her up and earn "star bucks" to buy clothes and stuff for her "house". My little girl loves it. This is the link to check it out: http://friends.stardoll.com/r/b80b41f222bb102aa621

When I was growing up, we were very poor. We took the Aldens catalog and made our own paper dolls and then used the catalog and made them clothes. We had such fun doing this. I did an article a few months ago on paper dolls and added a couple links to some great paper doll sites also. I think girls are missing out on some creative fun when they are deprived of paper dolls. Kids need to learn to take their imagination and have fun and grow with it. That is how they learn. I dont think kids have enough creative interactions in todays society. They spend more time on the internet and in front of a TV than anything else.

That is so creative, a couple of other people have told me the same thing. I try to limit my kids tv time too. I have noticed if they spend too much time watching they ge a little "mindless".

I remember having paper dolls, and they hours of fun we had playing with them, I can't wait to check out the site too. My sister had just recently found some paper dolls somewhere, and was so excited to give them to her daughters. It was kind of sad though, even though they're 3 and 5, they looked at them like, what are these. I don't think they ever picked them up. Maybe one day she can teach them to appreciate the simple toys of our past. Thanks for the post and for the link.

Have you seen those paper dolls that are magnets? The dolls are made of a very hard board and the clothes have magnetic strips on the back of them! The are awesome. My daughter and I play with them.

I used to love playing with paper dolls! Everytime I would visit my grandma's house, I would get to play with a huge selection of two generations worth of paper dolls.
