How many of you leave feedback? If your a seller when do you leave a feedback? I'm asking this question because lately I haven't been getting feedbacks and I'm the nice person to leave feedbacks for everyone. When I sell, I usually leave a feedback once I receive the payment, but lately I've been waiting a few days to see if they will post the feedback first. But don't you just hate it when you leave a feedback and you don't get one back, I hate it and I think that is just being mean.

Hi I buy & sell on ebay I been doing it along time and I am going to tell you even though you might receive payment (Do not leave feedback until the buyer leave feedback first) because the buyer could have a problem with the product. If they do not leave feedback in a 1 or 2 weeks just contact the member and ask them to leave feedback for your item alot of the forget to leave feedback and alot of them do not go to they computers everyday.

I leave feedback as soon as my item is received. Once the transaction is totally clear I leave feedback based on how long it took etc. I like to include speed of delivery in my comments.

I 'm a seller and I always leave a feedback once I received the payment and I 've posted the item. I do that because I believe when you have done your bit and have left a positive feed back you'll have high chance to get one back. And if there's a problem in a proccess your customer has confident in you that you will solve the problem accordingly. Of course some of them don't even bother to leave any feedback and I can honestly say that I'm quite annoyed but I just send them feedback reminder then I'll get my feedback..xx

Ok, as a seller i always wait until the buyer has left me feedback before i leave. That way i know they have received their purchase but also, they're happy with it. I tend to send reminder messages about them leaving feedback if it takes a while - then, if they don't bother, i don't bother. It seems unfair for me to raise their feedback numbers & to praise them, if they cant do the same for me. If i am a buyer, i leave feedback as soon as the items arrive & i'm happy with them, if i'm not happy i just make contact & let the seller know & see if something can be worked out!

When I first started selling on eBay I left feedback for a buyer as soon as I received payment. After a while when I realized that the buyers weren't leaving feedback for me I stopped leaving feedback and only left feedback after a buyer left feedback for me. But then I read some thoughts on this very subject and some thought that it was only right to leave feedback upon payment as the buyer had completed their part of the transaction. And if the buyer left feedback after they've received their item and was satisfied with it that was fine, if not you just move on. You can always remind the buyer to leave feedback but if they don't you shouldn't make a federal case about it.

I always leave feedback when I receive the item I ordered. If there is a problem with the order then I try to give the seller the chance to fix the problem before leaving negative feedback. If I sell something I wait until the buyer leaves feedback so that way o know the transaction went through okay and there were no problems. As a seller I don't see any problem with waiting to leave feedback until the buyer leaves feedback.

i always leave feedback and so far have not had any problems with itmes i've bought but i would leave a neutral or negative feedback if it was warranted, its really just the same as going into a shop if you get good service you'll go back so i think sellers appreciate being told how you found their service.

I leave feedback once the seller leaves feedback (If I'm the buyer). I think that they should leave feedback saying if it was a smooth transaction or whatever. When I'm the seller- I leave it once I'm paid.. If I'm the buyer I leave it after I have gotten the product. Sometimes I forget to leave it-- Gotta love those reminders.

Not just you...I leave feedback right away and half the time I do not get the same curtiosity. Same on them for being lazy and one can only hope karma will come around someday for them. For the same reason I still always leave feedback.

When I first started selling on e-bay I used to leave feedback upon payment. Then, one girl gave me a negative because she said the item was smaller than she thought and the shipping was too high. I had no recourse as I'd already left her positive feedback. What burned me about it is I put the measurements of the item in the listing and offered priority or parcel post, in which she chose priority! Now, I only leave feedback after (and only) when the buyer has left it for me.

I think you are being generous to leave feedback for a buyer first. I've always expected that as the buyer I had to leave feedback first...kind of like a confirmation that I received the item and was pleased. It's so ironic I would find this discussion on mylot. I am waiting on 2 feedbacks from 2 different sellers. Both these transaction were almost 2 months ago. I left each seller a positive (a very good one at that). I waited 3 weeks then I emailed the sellers asking them if they were pleased with our transaction (they had no reason not to be..I payed via paypal). I politley asked if they could leave feedback in return. Neither seller left feedback nor did they email me back. I have now just deleted those transactions but it still bothers me. Any suggestions from a sellers point of view? Why would a seller not leave feedback for a buyer..the transaction was straight forward and smooth.

Hi, As an ebay powerseller I am busy. I reciprocate feedback 2-5 times a month. The sellers who did not leave feedback might be signed up for the same ebay service that leaves feedback after the buyer does and the service may have not been working. Also don't have 100% faith in the USPS. I have mailed to thousands of people & a lot of it gets lost or messed up. The USPS once shipped a delivery confirmed package to the wrong zip code. IT WAS PRINTED FROM THE USPS WEBSITE. When I contacted the USPS about it they said very rudely, IT WAS DELIVERED. If it didn't cost so much I would use a different service. Needless to say, I reshipped the buyer's goods. For more information see my 1st post to this discussion.

I forgot to add. The past 3 months my mother has been ill. I may not have left feedback for everyone but the reciprocation of feedback was the least of my worries. Just like with everyone else some people have problems that are more important than ebay.

I always leave feedback, but its normally after the buyer leaves theirs. There are times when I will go ahead and leave it before hand if I know the product has been recieved, but normally I wait

When I'm the buyer, I will leave feedback if the seller has left me feedback first. There's been times I've gotten an email from the seller saying they'll leave me positive feedback if I leave positive feedback for them. If the transaction has gone smoothly and I've received the product with no problems I don't mind doing that. When I was first trying to build up my positive feedback, I would leave positive feedback for the seller. Then I'd email the seller saying I've leave positive feedback for you, I'd appreciate the same. Sometimes that worked, sometimes not. These days I usually only leave positive feedback for the seller if they do it for me. When I've been the seller, I've noticed only part of the time do I get feedback from the buyer. That's even when I've left positive feedback for them. Emailing them doesn't usually get much of a response, so I don't pursue it anymore. As a seller, I always do leave feedback for the buyer though.

I always leave feedback for the people I buy from. Ebay, half.com, and amazon.com. But it may take me a while to get around to it somtimes.

Whenever I buy goods, I do make it a point to leave feedback once I recieve the delivery of goods. I usually do that so that I can share my experience with others. It also encourages good merchants and discourages the bad merchants. So I almost always leave feedback. Cheers! Ram

Hi there. I guess I always thought that leaving feedback was a required part of buying and selling on Ebay. Maybe they have changed since then or maybe I just assumed that feedback was manditory. I always left feedback as soon as I received an item that I purchased and when I received payment from a sale. I read some posts that said that they waited until the buyer left feedback before they did (as the seller). I've never heard of that before, but then I've never had a problem with people not leaving feedback. The only thing I can say about that is isn't there a chance that you both end up waiting for each other to leave feedback so no one ever does? I don't know...just a thought. Feedback is a really important part of Ebay. I never buy an item that costs more than $10 unless the seller has sold a considerable amount of items and has nearly perfect feedback. All of my friends and family are the same way, so building up a large amount of good feedback can make the difference of whether or not you sell your item. I have seen auctions that include a little blurb in the discription about contacting them with any problems before leaving negative feedback. I think that is just good ebay etiquette. People often are not trying to screw you over and will be willing to work with you to solve an issue amicably before resorting to ruining peoples' feedback.

I am a seller, and I always add feedback. Normally I send out a note with the purchase that says "Please leave feedback!" And normally its more of a reminder. You can always email the buyer/seller and ask for feedback as it is crucial to a buyer wanting to buy from you or a seller wanting to sell for you. I guess thats the good thing about ebay. Try that out :)
