Is it the time you built that huge snowman. Or perhaps when the whole family went on a winter vacation. Was it a ski trip. Or maybe you have only seen snow on t.v. and in books but never in real life. Do you have a favorite snow memory??

I used to love to lie in the snow as a child and make snow angels. I felt so comfortable, looking up into the vast sky and looking at the universe. It was a very peaceful experience for me.

Snow mobiling in Colorado - We went snow mobiling in Colorado in January on my birthday. It was an amazing trip.
Of course I do, my hubby and I went to Colorado in January for my birthday. That was the very first time in my life I was visiting a place with snow, it was amazing!! We went snow mobiling(the best b'day gift ever), cross country skiing and snow tubing..it was just too good. I was so thrilled throughout the trip and it felt as though I was in a different world altogether. This is surely the first and best snow memory ever:)

1. when I was 7 or 8...it snowed for days...school was actually cancelled (which didn't happen back then) and we made tremendous snow animals. it was a lot of fun. we even put food coloring on the snow to color it. 2. when a teen ager, I was snowed in a cabin on a retreat. we had gone skiing. finally we couldn't even ski anymore because of the constant snow down fall. It was the first time I experienced a 'romantic' weekend. it was great!

as a child building hobbit hollows out of snow drifts - that was great fun...then there was that year that we got so much snow it reached the top of the house, and my son would slide off the roof and down the snow hill. As a family we always used to go cross country skiing, that was a great family activity - we would stop along the way and drink some hot cocoa from the thermos we packed.

When I was a kid in northern Finlan I used to use my cross country skiis just for that purpose. Transportation. I skiied to school in the mornings and back in afternoons. We used to make skiing trips in the forest to an nearby lake, 10 km. In northern finland we had snow from november to april. My first pair of skiis were blue wooden skiis, and they had a brandname "karhu".
