i lost my first earning from mylot!

Philippines
March 14, 2007 5:32am CST
my first payout was supposed to be $33.00 i was pretty excited when notified that i was eligible for payout already. when the day did came, i readily went to egold to transfer my earning to my bank account. to my horror, i couldn't remember my passphrase! i emailed egold for it and they said they'll send me a temporary phrase via mail. it's been a month already and i did not receive anything. i've written my first pay off as charged to experience. i've registered for a new account since, with egold and now that i'm once again a recepient for a payout, i'm sure to remember my passphrase this time. so, to new egold registrants, print out your details before you click submit. coz once you do, you can't go back to that page anymore. and if you forget you password, it's lost forever.

Thats so bad. e-gold is used to blocking accounts. I have come to know that you should not change user control settings ever on e-gold as you account will be blocked from then on. Yopu have to be careful while doing busineds with them. I prefer paypal that way at least they do respond in case of loosing passwords. as they both are just online provessors I wish we had some other way of getting our earnings from mylot.

yeah, me, too! but i also now how hard the people from mylot worked to get an alternative "payor" when they had problems with the previous one and i really appreciate them doing that. so, we just have to be content.

Oh my I'm so sorry to hear about your mishap. It's sad they didn't send you your passphrase, I would continue to pursue the situation. You neve know, they may eventually send it to you and you have even more money than what you thought... I use Paypal, I never used E-Gold. I know Paypal is pretty good with sending you your information or what information you need... Good luck to you and sorry again for your mishap

Wow your first payout was gonna be $33.00??? Mine was $15.88 and I have not been making much as I could I guess *L*. Okay sorry about that though. That sucks! :(( I used paypal and last I saw it was being transferred to my bank account just fine. I usually use the same name and password for every website. I KNOW this could be dangerous but its stuff none would guess. That way knowing me and my ADD I'd forget. However I have written them down on my computer as notepads and keep them handy just incase I forget the ones that arent like the others :/ not fun forgetting!

oh that's sad!! so is there any way to get another passphrase so you can get your $33.00? I don't remember my passphrase either. I'll try to check my email I might still have it.

the email that you got from egold does not contain the passphrase you used in your registration with them. i checked mine and it's not there. so, my $33 is gone and no way can i get it back unless i magically remember my phrase. sigh! (again)!

hey it was strange, I lost my passphrase 2 times from egold but they really send temporary passphrase mail to my home. I do agree with you to print all your important information but please keep it secure.

oh, it's not in mylot's hands anymore. as far as they are concerned, i've already been paid thru egold. the only thing is, i can't "withdraw" it from egold because i've lost my password! silly me!

The better way to create a password is a name with something that was happening in our past, for example our love memory...

Josh that is very unfortunate.I can imagine how helpless you must have felt. That too $33 is an amount which takes a huge amount of effort to accumulate. But hat's of to the positive attitude you have .Inspite of being bitter or unhappy about it,you have taken this incident as a learning experience and what's even more admirable is, that you want to help others so that we don't face such a situation. That is what makes a beautiful human. Thankyou very much for this post :-)

Well you should not write it of you should contact E-Gold again and get them to sort it out. Are you not able to have Paypal as they are very good I have been with them for 3 Years now. Please Joshdale get onto E-Gold and get them to sort it for you. I don't like E-gold and I would never join them but if you are not able to get Paypal I guess you have no choice but do not let it go keep at them.

you're right! i don't really have a choice coz we don't have paypal here in the philippines. i've tried emailing them again about not recieving the temporary passphrase but, no answer. anyway, i've chalked it up to experience. thanks for your concern, though!

sorry, but i have no idea because paypal isn't available in our country. why don't you try contacting them? they can probably help you.

if your address and/or phone listed in your e-gold profile is correct, i am SURE you ll get your money back (if not stolen). dont worry, try to call e-gold (they only call back to the phone listed in your profile)

so, you'd better be careful about remembering your passwords so it won't happen to you. and good luck to you and welcome to mylot.

There is something technically wrong with what you are doing. When you inform e-gold about your password loss they will send you a temporary access code by post. After that you have to access your account with this code and enter a new password. It willl take a little time but the process is simple.

yeah, supposedly. but i never did receive my temporary password. the mail never reached me. so i've no idea what temporary passphrase they sent me.

That's stupid. You can always have your passphrase emailed to you. You can't tell me that you've forgot it and emailed the ADMINS. It's not right. There is an option for this.

be sure to keep that habit up. don't be like me - too disorganized. see where it lead me to. sigh!

Wow, that really sucks. Using myLot for the past week or so is the first time that I've ever heard of e-gold. I sounds like a very unprofessional company or even a scam. Do you use it because you live outside of the U.S.? If you are eligible for Paypal you should check that out instead. The have been around for awhile and have proven themselves to be a reputable company. If you forgot your Paypal password it would have been emailed to you immediately and you would have been able to access it within a few minutes. Did you try contacting e-gold again about the password? If they are a real company, they should have a phone number or email link that would allow you to talk to a real person and get your password quickly. $33 is a considerable amount of money to give up on so easily. Well, it sounds like you've figured things out so that it won't happen again. I wish you better luck in the future.

oh, don't get me wrong. the people from egold have been responsive and they've sent me the temporary passphrase. the only thing is, the mail got lost somewhere coz it never did get to me. (bad luck comes in threes?). i'll contact them one more time about this problem but i'm not really keeping my hopes up. thanks anyway for your concern. p.s. i almost forgot, paypal is not available here in our country.
