Most people throw away their leftover food. What do you usually do to your leftover food? Store it in the fridge? Throw it away? Or something else? =)

Leftovers are great! Sometimes I will make extra just so we have them. Certain foods, like home made soups, even taste better the second time around. There are times I've made too much chicken noodle soup and after eating it for two days, I'll send it with my mom or dad to save them from preparing dinner for a night. Leftovers are the best when you are short on time... you can just pull it out of the refrigerator and reheat. They also make a nice home cooked lunch. Some meals can be made into different meals for the next day. We will have tacos one day and then have taco salad or a taco bake with the leftovers. I've also cut up leftover steak or chicken to make fajitas or added them to noodles, vegetables and sauce for a casserole... sometimes I'll make a crust and fill it to make a family sized potpie. As you can see, I hate to waste. If there is very little left or something processed that doesn't reheat well... my doggy gets a special treat of leftovers in his dish! I enjoy leftovers so much I've actually suggested wrapping myself in tin foil and going as a leftover for a Halloween Party!

If you make spaghetti, try this for your leftovers (we seem to always have extra): Put your leftovers in a baking dish (I use a round glass one), top it with parmesan cheese, shredded cheese and pepperoni... I call it baked spaghetti but my son calls it spaghetti pizza! It's more like spaghjetti pizza if you place the ingredients on garlic bread though ; ) I also like to make chops or steak with rice & beans with bacon and then use the leftovers rolled into tortillas and topped with enchilada sauce and shredded cheese for a variation of enchiladas.

Well, people have preferences don't they? =) Try storing some leftovers some time. It's worth it. =) Thanks!

We almost always have leftover food each day. Sometimes we throw it out if there is not enough of it left to save or if it isn't good enough to feed the dog. Most of the time when we have leftovers though, we fix it up for my husbands lunch for work the next day. Sometimes we even have enough left over for me some lunch for the next day also. some foods do not taste very good when they are reheated, so we go ahead and throw that out. I have often saved leftovers for the next day and it never gets eaten so it gets throwed away. Most usually we do not waist food though because my dog loves table scraps so we feed it to him
