I've seen sme kids doing this a while ago. They are competing to who can hold his breath the longest. I tried it and found out I can barely hold it in for over a minute.. How about you?

i can only hold my breath for about 25 seconds maximum due to me being a smoker, when i was a kid i could do it for much longer!

I noticed that smoking shortens one's ability to hold his breath.. Well, it's no wonder, smoking damages one's lungs.. =/

In my case, I tend to have my vision blurred when I get past one minute.. Really scary. So I try not to hold it in for more than a minute.. I do sometimes and it hurts.. =/

I see. So smokers tend to have a hard time holding their breaths. Thank goodness I don't smoke. =P Thanks for responding!

I just tried this also. I can hold my breath for just under a minute also. I smoke like a freight train and have done so for years. That could be a very good reason why I could not hold it longer than that. But what amazes me, is, when we open our swimming pool for the summer, my husband, daughter and I compete with who can stay under the water the longest and I can stay under water alot longer holding my breath than what I can when I am out of the water. It doesn't make much sense to me. I guess it is because I am under the water and I have to hold my breath or suck up water. When I am out of the water, I can release and breathe air any time I want without being hurt by doing so, is all that I can come up with. Plus I am not in any kind of competition, LOL.
