Get a Medal if you are contender for Best Response

Hello my friends, this post is especially important if you have been regularly responding to my discussions.
I have decided to introduce an interesting element and hopefully make things more fun. As we all know, myLot only allows us to mark ONE best response per discussion. However, I sometimes find that there are quite a few responses for my discussions that are equally well-written. Especially if you think you have put in a lot of effort, I can understand your disappointment if yours is not chosen.
As such, I will be giving out virtual medals as and when I come across quality responses. You will see this as an image I upload with my comment, and this implies that yours is a quality response and that you are in the running for the "best response". I would love to make things slicker, but I am unfortunately as constrained as you by the myLot platform. :P
The purpose of this is to recognise the higher-quality responses. I really appreciate the responses I have been getting for my discussions, and I feel that this is the least I can do on my part. To get a visual illustration of what I mean, check out my "Do you feel you are getting old?" discussion at http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/852975.aspx . I have given some medals for what I think are the better responses. Ultimately, one of them will be marked officially as the best response. So if you get a ribbon but not the "best response", I hope you will at least feel better. In particular, check out response #5, 6, 10, 14, 19, 20, 29, 53, 62, 66 and 93 to see what I mean. ;-)

What do you mean? Of course a thread will be responded by more than 1 person. You are referring to e.g. this particular response where a silly bunny added her comment?
Well, if I mark this response with a virtual medal, it would naturally go to the first person who started this response. The rest are just.. *ahem* you know... :P

You´ve had a very original idea, which I´m sure people will appreciate.
I respond to your discussions from time to time (whenever I feel I´ve got something to say) and I would really appreciate a symbolic medal. It´s good to know that your reply has been considered a quality one.

It is a terrific idea and would be even better if myLot picked up on it and decided to reward those in the running for best response. Perhaps more of us should do this. Where'd you get your medal? ;-) Nevermind, don't answer that. I can see other people using it in other people's discussions instead of their own. That would not be good because then the friends favouritism would kick in... again.

Surely you don't mean it has been stolen ALREADY? If you can point out those discussions, I would really appreciate it. I haven't come across them yet.
I don't quite get what you mean about the favoritism bit though..

I honestly do not know why you gave me a VIRTUAL MEDAL, wizarrrd. I did nothing but to make fun of your discussion. Hmmm...maybe you're just trying to make me better. Referring me as a NASTY old friend. Just make sure to give me more of those VIRTUAL MEDALS. You should make mine the biggest though. My eyes are still swollen from being NASTY. "nasty grin"

that's great.. you make other deserving member to feel better, that they do deserve 'best response' rating. even if i am not one of them, i'm still happy for those you have chosen. that show's your appreciation with all the members here in mylot.

I will be doing this in phases i.e. I would be stealing time to mark out these potential contenders by giving them the ribbons. I guess I will do it a few discussions at a time. :P
But for the new discussions I start, I would try to mark them out as I see them. If you feel you deserve a virtual medal i.e. to be put in the running, you can also pm me - it might always be that I've forgotten to upload the medal. :P

no, i would not recommend myself for the 'best response'. if i would be chosen by the creator that would be more fine. i wanted other members to rate me as how they think i should be lordwarwizard. i would feel more happy and confident by that rating system.

I don't think it would be any different than posting a picture. They will not pay you for it, other than one time, but it would seem it could become your trade mark, so to speak.

Hello honey, that's another thing. Another user on myLot mentioned that it might be against myLot rules. I really don't know if it is against any of their rules. If they message me nicely with the reason, of course I will have to stop.
I just hope they will not just delete my discussions, or even cancel the 40 bucks earnings I have accumulated without even saying why. Like you, I have been putting in so many time and effort into myLot. If the "bosses" are so inconsiderate and unappreciative, I think I will just leave myLot for good.

FYI, for all the images I have uploaded, I seem get a steady 1 cent per day. I simply don't make money from images - mostly all my cents come from responses.
By this, it is just to show appreciation for support from my friends. I hope they don't take it the wrong way and think I am trying to earn money by posting more images.
It's not as if I would be posting that many of these virtual medals anyway. :P

I can see you thoroughly enjoy yourself when working at the computer. You definitely have more computer skills than I do. I think my old brain is tired. I know people love to be recognized for their input, and certainly no one can say you are not checking back on your discussions. Nifty idea. A virtual medal for virtual friends. I like it.

What a wonderful Idea. It is hard to have one particular marked Best result and then somebody else posts and theirs is as equally as good... I have also thought of doing something similiar, but never have usually I will add a pic that shows how I feel:)...
You are surely a inspiration.... Good one you for coming up with this idea it will make people feel welcome and keep on posting....

I know exactly what you mean about awarding the best response, only to have someone post later with a much better one. Hopefully, this would solve that issue too. ;-)

I think this is a great idea Lordwarwizard, and I hope Mylot don't come down on you for it. I personally don't get upset if not awarded best response in your discussions because although yours are sometimes quite deep, they are set out in an enlightening and fun featured way. I enjoy them immensely.
So, medal or no medal, I will always respond to your discussions. I find them good quality, thought provoking and fun. Keep up the good work.

Well Wizard again you amaze me with your uniquness. I must say, I really don't pay that much attention to best responses. I feel bad about this because it is a honor but I think because I toil so with the task on my own discussions I attempt to "block" them out as much as possible.
I do however think it would be such an honor to receive one of your medals as I often go back and read to see if you or someone else has commented on my response - I would see the medal then :)
You now give me hope dear Sir, I would never dream of the honor of receiving best response from you as you seem to bring the best out in everyone in the world but I will dream of possibly some day receiving one of your badges...

How sweet of you! It is always nice to get a feed back when you have written a well thought throgh response. I have often felt that it would be nice to know if someone rated my response in a positive way. I go back and check the discussions I have responded to to see if there is an answer or an input to my response. i am always happy when there is. I imagine i would be thrilled to get a medal!

You put up some pretty interesting discussions, you want to recognize those??..thats wonderful, and a nice way to show that you read all who replies to your discussions....thats why I like replying to yours, because I know that you will at least read it...

I wouldn't want to bombard them with more mails than necessary lol. I would be grateful if they can just answer those I send regarding glitches. Till now, the message glitch is still not fixed. :(

Geez, I am glad you like it.
Nah, it is not patented. With only the cents I am getting here, I can't afford to pay through all the red tape.
As for how the virtual medal is given, it would be exactly the same criteria for best response. The official best response marked would just be the best of those who got the medals.
