Why do mylot friends private message and do we earn by answering them?

Many here in mylot send private messages to me asking me 'whay would you do if you find your husband with another women'..etc. I reply to some but not to all as most of them are very silly to be answered.
Do i get paid for those responses and if not why are they sending private messages. I think mylot don't pay for that but in case if they are paying than its ok, but if they are not is there a way to block private messages because i really don't like those its really over flooded.

The private messages are sent to avoid putting things on the general board.
No one gets paid for them.
The only way to stop getting messages that I know of is to remove people from your friends list as only they can send you messages.

Firstly, are you sure those are private messages? They sound more like discussions topics... Check to see if you have email notification turned on for that person.
In the email you received, you should be able to see clearly whether it is a discussion started or a private message. I have never come across people sending me such discussion like topics as private messages.
You certainly do *not* get paid for private messages.

We do not get paid for writing or responding to private messages. The private messages are for members who want to talk privately to other members or friends that they do not want others to know or read in the forum. If I want to talk about something personal or private with a friend, I will private message them or chat online with them through another program. Some people are using private messages to spam other members which is against the rules.

I don't think so that the private messages get paid anything at all. They don't pay us for uploading private photos as well. You only get paid for the photos that you load in the various categories.
I myself do some messaging, but generally respond to discussions regularly.
