What kind of farming have you done or are doing now?

I grew up on a sheep and cattle farm and did a lot of milking. We had chickens and a male peacock that would follow my mother everywhere on the farm. One summer I spent my entire summer digging post holes for my neighbors and are farm, as we were putting up new fences. One thing I miss is our grape vines, as we would stomp grapes to make juice. It was a lot of fun and we would have a big party serving the juice. All our neighbors would bring something for the party.

Thanks for the reply. I have never worked in an avocado field and that would be interesting. We grew some apples and use to make pies and applesauce.

My husband and I are starting a farm. I am going to build a greenhouse for a vegetable garden, plant fruit trees for a small orchard, and a strawberry patch. My husband is going to get started on egg and broiler chickens. If we can be a bit successful, we may graduate to beef cattle. We probably won't get into dairy farming, but who knows. The long term plan is for Bison. We're really excited!!
