i am going to lunch a question that many of you might laugh at me. my social communication skill is terrible! i would feel nervouse when i i meet someone i know but is not so close to me, because i don't know what to say (and i am not young!). and people can tell that as well. so this ends up like people just leave me alone. can someone talk a little about this? what do you say when you meet someone who obiviously know you but obeviously has not much common topics to share with you? of course, beside "how are you?"

I am like you too. I never really understood those people who could just go up and talk to a crowd full of strangers with no problems??? Just not cool! I stumble when speaking to the unknown. Not to mention...always second guessing myself. I am comfortable and speak fluently when around people whom I am comfortable with or have known a while. I have learned, though, that regardless to my feelings this is something that I have to do. So, call me corney, but things that help me get over my fear or nervousness is joining sites like this, conversating with strangers like the mail man, pizza delivery man, neighbors, etc. Hope you this helps!

thank you Keela_mark! i like your wonderful smile. i haven't smile like that for a while... thank you for understanding! it's always good to know that you are not alone in a situation. i never realy like to talk to strangers too much. it just makes me feeling tiresome. however, i think since i started to feel the need to have friends around, i am thinking to have a try to improve my social skill and see what i can get from that. again, thank you so much and please keep that smile:)

First off, let me say 'Hello!' and 'Welcome to myLot!'.. It is hard to avoid small talk with ppl you slightly know, but even if you can find one common interest through what you do know of them, it can help strike up some conversation. I am one of those who can go on and on about nothing, so for the sake of breaking my own mold, i will try and keep from that..lol. Truly, as far as on a site like this, you can try searching out some interests YOU have and then adding you're input. It's a good way to make new friends, and you already have something to discuss~ Good Luck and hope to see you around!

first of all, you look beauiful! and the lighting is just dramatic! this is indeed a good website. communication becomes easy! thank you for the response! i do find it helpful. 'find on common interest' rings the bell. i believe i have never really tried that. i have big 'ego'. that's the problem. well that never been a problem until i realize i need friends. ha!
