I know the stresses of not only being in the Military myself, but also being a military wife. My husband is in the Army and he's always working late, in the field, or on deployment. It's a very stressful job to be a military spouse. I cope with the stress by keeping in touch and talking to my family, my in-laws, and friends. I'm also part of my husband's FRG. How do you cope with the stresses of being a military spouse?

Early on, I made the decision to have my own life and identity separate from being just a military spouse. Working, having friends, my children, my hobbies, my life. It may sound a bit selfish, but when you meet your life partner/spouse, we all bring a separate individuality to the equation--the key is not to lose that separate individuality so you don't fall into a rut.
We appreciate and enjoy the quality time we get to spend together more, and we appreciate what each of us bring to the relationship.
I guess I don't allow myself to stress over what can't be helped, and instead I keep myself busy.

You make it sound so easy... but its really not. Really talking on the phone and being frg... is that all you need? It is very hard to deal with the strss... so here is what I am going to do this time. I am going to go back to school! I am going to take advantage of all the free stuff I get (like daycare at the gym)! But there still is stress and there is no way around being alone or just bored.

I am engaged to a soldier so I guess I would be considered a wife, since we are getting married at the end of the month. I plan to be a part of his FRG and his last deployment I worked full time, worked at home and took care of our daughter, waited for the phone to ring, waited for packages in the mail, shopped for stuff to send to him and his buddies and so on. It is very stressful, so I think for me the best thing I can do is to keep busy. After my daughter goes back to school from summer break, he will have left for his deployment and I will go back to work either full time or part time to keep my mind off of things!
