I probably don't have any tips that you don't already know, but the important things for me are to make sure I get plenty of sleep and eating right. I also use heat for the pain. "Bed-buddies" work the best (microwaveable pads full of uncooked rice). Also, alka-seltzer works better for me than ibuprofen or tylenol.

Many of us with fibromyalgia find that taking glucosamine helps. I know that if I don't take it I can feel the difference. I've also discovered that exercising in heated pool or spa helps. Stretching exercises, too. It is really hard to motivate me to exercise, though. Seems the last thing I want to do when I'm in pain. But it does help in the long run. Mine also responds to low doses of amytrptoline helps manage the pain and improve my sleep. It is an antidepressant but the dose is subclinical. So even if you aren't depressed it helps.

fibromyalgia's mainstay treatment is sleep hygeine, stress management, mood control and physical therapy via rehabilitation.....do these things gauranteed your fibromyalgia will disappear..... first and far most, you need to rule out any other potential causes of pain before it is called fibromyalgia...you chould have a thorough blood panel testing looking at vitamin deficiencies, folate levels, hiv test, lyme tite, hepatitis, thyroid testing thats just a start

I have tried several of the remedies mentioned here which did help but for various reasons, allergys, rare side effects, didn't mix with other med's I'm on, I couldn't use them. I ended up going to a pain clinic where they gave me cortisone shots. Those gave me some relief for a little while and then they gave me a Neurolysis shot 4 months ago. That REALLY helped! Up until a week ago and I started having a fibro flare up. Don't know yet if this will pass and I'll be able to walk again or use my arms right or not but here's hoping!

I have it so bad it is difficult for me to work outside the home. The best advice I can give you is to drink lots of water, and try to limit that amount of stress in your life as much as possible, it plays so much into the pain. Get lots of rest and if you are able to get regular gentle massages then do.

One of the crucial supplements for Fibromyalgia is Mag-Citrate. It is a combination of Magnesium and Malic Acid. Magnesium is responsible for the function of over 300 bodily functions. Fibromites are deficient it magnesium. You must take some every day. I take 3 Mag-Citrate a day (250 mg.) and it helps my pain a lot. I also take a Calcium/Magnesium/D supplement, as well as get Magnesium from my multi-vitamin. Exercise is also very important. You must start very slowly though. If you can only walk down the driveway and back, then start with that and then go a little bit further each time. I started slow and am now walking over 3 miles a day, 5 days a week. You may feel pain when you are walking but walk slowly, take it easy. I find that I might hurt while I am walking and then I will slow down, the pain will ease up and I will pick up speed again. Most of the time my legs hurt at night, but they are going to hurt anyway. Hot beanbags are very helpful. I have several so I can put them on various parts of my body if I have all over pain. I hope you find some relief. Good luck!
