How often to do you call your significant other during the day?

Here, significant other is in reference to boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. How often to do you call them over the phone over during the day? Do you think you call them less or more depending if you live with them or not? I live with my boyfriend, and I still probably talk to him over the phone about 4 or 5 times per day. He calls me or I call him but it totals to about 5 phone conversations per day.

I don't call hubby at all while he is working, unless it is a dire emergency. He calls me on his dinner break usually and then again when he is leaving work to see if I need him to bring anything home. He's such a sweetie.

This is something I don't understand. My parents call each other hundreds of times during a day. They call each other when they leave a building and are heading someplace new, the moment they are heading home, the moment a new thing happens. It's ridiculous. If they can't get a hold of the other, they immediately jump to conclusions and get suspicious.
My best friend is also like this with her husband. In a typical drive to the grocery store, which is approximately a 20 minute drive. They will have spoken 4 times. 4 TIMES. Not to mention the five to ten times they will speak while in the grocery store and the 4 more times on the drive back. Both of these people work from home, so they see each other all the time and again, if the other party doesn't answer the phone immediately, suspicion is immediately aroused.
When I was married, unless it was important, I spoke to my husband when I got home. Maybe thats why I'm divorced, I trusted him too much. Who knows?

We text each other a lot.. with single new things happening... updating each other... I call him everyday whenever I missed him or wants to hear his voice..
We talked over the phone every night before we sleep... I really can't sleep without talking to him...

I have to call mine a few times a day to make sure he is still alive and free..he gets into a lot of trouble and has to be checked on..so if there is a specific number of calls a day, I would have to say 4-5 times...

I call my bf around 4 or 5 times a day. But we don't really have a very long conversation, since we also chat online, and we see each other everyday. So, phone calls wont be a lot.
