I love my crockpot :) It's so nice to come home to a home-cooked meal after a busy day and it only takes a few minutes of prep time in the morning to get it started. I think it's easier than ordering take-out and it usually tastes better.
I tried a new-to-me recipe last night, for a breakfast crockpot meal and it came out fabulous. Figured I'd share it with my MyLot friends & solicit you to share your favorite slow cooker recipes.
This was shared on a yahoo group I belong to, by a woman named Nicky.
2 cups Milk
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 TBS melted butter
1/4 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1 cup quick cook oats
1 cup chopped apples (I left the skins on but you could peel them)
1/2 cup raisins (didn't have any so I used 1/2 cup dried cherries)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (can skip if you have nut allergies)
Directions- grease inside of crockpot, dump in ingredients & mix with a wire whisk. Cover crockpot, set to low before bed & it'll be warm & yummy when you wake up.
I'm not a huge fan of oatmeal, but it really came out great- tasted almost like an apple crumble, some fresh cream on top might have made it even yummier.
Now everyone share your favorite TnT (tried & true) slow cooker recipe :)

Oh that sounds so yummy. I really should use my slow cooker more.
I guess I don't cause I don't have any good recipes. I primarily use it for making chili.
I just toss in browned meat, beans, sauce, and seasonings and let the crock pot do the rest.

This sounds really good - I've never used the crockpot to make breakfast, just dinners, but I'll have to try it. We really like oatmeal around here.

That looks great. Thanks for sharing. I like to roast the chicken plain, with no liquids, just spicy seasonings. I place the chicken on rack or foil balls,so it doesn't sit in the fat.

I read this recipe last week some where on the internet. It turned out pretty good.

1 large jar spaghetti sauce
1 tsp. italian seasoning
1 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 15 oz. container ricotta cheese
1 c. shredded parmesan cheese
3 c. shredded mozzarella
12 uncooked noodles
Spray crockpot with non stcik cooking spray. In a large saucepan, over medium-high heat brown sausage and onion until fully cooked. Drain. Return to pan: add spaghetti sauce and seasonings, mix well, reduce heat to low. In a bowl combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, and 2 c. mozzarella. Spoon 1/4 sausage mixture into crockpot and top with noodles broken to fit. Top with 1/2 of cheese mixture, then 1/4 sausage mixture, and noodles.Make another layer cheese, sausage, and noodles. Then finish with sausage with remaining sausage mixture.Cover and cook 6-8 hours on low heat or 3-4 on high heat. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella, cook another 15 minutes or until cheese has melted.
