An Icon for many years, Bob Barker is no longer going to be hosting the Price is Right. Do you think the show will survive without him? Is it Bob that brings everyone to love the show or is it the game itself?

I'm not sure, but I think I started a similar discussion to this earlier on....in any case it doesn't matter. My husband and I watch this show everyday. We adore this man. They once tried to do a nighttime version of TPIR with other hosts and it didn't go over well. It won't be good if they try to carry on without him. He IS The Price is Right.

There's a comedian, Dane Cook, who says that it's a given if you call in sick from school or work you MUST watch The Price is Right, no matter what else is on! LOL Isn't that the truth?!!! I don't watch the show regularly but when I catch it I always love it.

In my opinion Bob Barker is such a big part of the show. I can't imagine what it will be like without him.

Bob Parker has been a great host of The Price is Right. I will miss seeing him on television. He is the reason I have watched the show in recent years, as I'm usually working when the show is shown in this area. I hope he does a few evening episodes of the show.

Have they announced who will take his place as host?? That will be a big decision maker.. I love the Price is Right- I've been watching it for years- right along side my grandma. Of course now that I work full time I only watch it when I can catch it. I love Plinko! I think alot of people will keep on watching it! Wonder if they will still call them Barkers Beauties?

It is the show and they can replace him so long as they do not mess too much with the format of it

I think whoever takes over for Bob Barker has some very big shoes to fill indeed... I mean who hasn't watched people "come on down!!!!!" from time to time? Whenever I think of the Price is Right, I remember my dad. He was a big fan and prided himself on always "winning" the showcase ROFL He watched so often that he really had the prices nailed, I tell ya. I've heard and read that they have tested audiences with Mario Lopez (from Dancing with the Stars), George Hamilton (mr. perma-tan LOL) and John O'Hurley (also from Dancing with the Stars and Seinfeld). I could sort of see O'Hurley taking over, since he visually would remind some folks of Bob, with the hair and all. Hamilton, I don't like at all as a game show host... he just doesn't seem to be a good "fit". Lopez is VERY young, I find... but maybe they want to "restart" the institution of the Price is Right by choosing someone that will make the faithful fans remember when Bob first started. I'm not sure if they'd give such a young man a chance, though. I think, no matter who it is, that folks really do love the Price is Right... and everyone wants to win "A NEW CARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" (kinda redundant really... I mean, would it ever be an OLD car? hee hee)... so, once a new host has a chance to settle in, I think people will be accepting. All the best to Bob too! He deserves a nice, peaceful retirement!!

Well I am watching right now and I think about him leaving from time to time. It is going to be really different when he leaves but I think it will make it if he is replaced with a well-liked figure that everyone seems to know. It would be wierd if he was replaced with someone I've never heard of. I think it's a little half and half on just it being Bob and the game itself. I love both so I'm not sure on that one.
