Who's the cook in your family?

I used to be the one that did all the cooking but since my husband retired he's always in the kitchen cooking. More times then not I wake up and he already has a meal cooked and waiting for when ever I feel like eating. I hate pre cooked meals. I'm one of the people that want it fresh not "left- overs". I tell him but I don't have the heart not to eat it anyhow. So I don't think the message really gets thru. But oh well at least he thought enough of me to include me in the meal. Gotta love him for that at least. I just can't make him understand that I'm a person that only eats 1-2 meals a day and I never know what I want until I'm hungry so I just wait until my stomach tells me. Who's the cook in your house and do you/they eat it even if they don't like it?

sounds like you have a good husband an wants to take care of you.thats sweet of him..but i do most of all the cooking here at my house.my husband can only cook eggs an toast ..lol..never a big meal.but when i cook i always cook something we both like.an i cook 2 meals a day an i always use fresh products .we do eat leftovers sometimes depends on what it is.

My honey is great to me yes.. He always babies me.. It is what I liked about him first when we met.. I use fresh when I can to.. When I do the cooking it's the big things that he doesn't know how to cook such as a full mexican meal, tamales,homemade refried beans...That kinda stuff.. Tammy

My hubby does have a go at th cooking but to be honest he is much better with th vacuum lol he puts the wash on in the morning when he gets up too , since his op he hasn't been able to do as much but he still makes the odd meal and I have to admit I eat it whether I am hungry or not lol ,

We both cook. If you saw my discussion earlier this week, you know I do it to relieve stress, and to vent. Hubby uses it as a creative outlet. He does not cook unless I am present, and ready to eat it with him. He does not get hungry, or want to eat, unless I am around to eat with him. To my husband, presentation is a large part of the meal. And occasionally he does the dishes.

Good for you.. My honey does the dishes too..We have a habit as cleaning as we go so all thats left are our plates,ect.. I'll grab his stuff since he cooks most meals.. Tammy

being a single father this falls on me. my daughters do sometimes though. I found that alot of times a frozen entre is almost as good as the real thing when you dont have time, and i often dont. do up some noodles and a canned veggie and yer good to go.

yep. that's what we call an instant life.. just toss it in the oven, or just add hot water or just let it simmer for some few minutes and it's done. i had done that when i was in college. everything was a rush for me. and i ate just such instant stuffs. but i say, nothing is compared to fresh foods. hehe.

I'm the cook during the week. Hubby cooks on the weekends, he loves to cook but weekends is the only chance he gets. I have to admit he is a much better cook than I am but don't tell him that..LOL

I did too when my honey worked 5 am to 6-7 pm..Now he feels I did it all those years he want to for me.. Its sweet and I let him..Tammy

I am the one that does the cooking in my house. and with my BF we dont have any leftovers even after he gets done eating if he goes back into the kitchen he is eating out of the pans of what is left and he will do that til it is gone. he will cook maybe once a month if I let him.

My husband usually cleans everything up to or he goes the other way and makes so much we have to eat it for a week.. Tammy

In my family,my mother cooks for us and she is really good at cooking.A lot of times,I don't liking cooking so if anyone cooks for me I will feel so happy and I am not strict with the food.

my family will eat anything-i get no complaints.
but i am the cook-it is too dangerous for my mom to do so anymore-but i don't mind.
plus i can season the food the way i like-she likes very bland food for some reason.

Not To Be prehudice or anything but usally Liek 8-10 is usally a mother or women who cooks the meals now i no this sounds prejudice but there are ALOT of famillies single parents and non single parents who the male cooks for the family its not really a big deal who cooks so longs as they are a good cook and know how to make a great meal
then your welcome to come over to cook my supper :P

all i can say is that you have a sweet husband. not all men are willing to cook for their partners. and your husband is an exception. so, still, lucky you!
i don't like fastfoods either. i rarely go out and eat in such places unless i need to eat there with a friend.
i usually am the cook at home. but i love to cook. there are times when my taste buds are down and the foods i cook does not end up the way it should be. but i have a great family. they eat it anyway. hehe. if something's missing, they just add what's missing and it's okey with them. hehe. that's how lucky i am, too.

You know, I am the same way about not knowing what I want until I am hungry.
And even then, sometimes my stomach can not decide. ha ha
But I am the main cook of the house. I do split things up among others to teach them to cook so they are not helpless when they move out. But I am the main cook.
Even cooking on the grill outside!
My partner used to be the person that cooked outside...but he had a problem with burning things on the grill. Then not too long ago, I decided to start up the grill myself and start cooking it before he got home. Turns out...I don't burn it...and now he wants me to do all the cooking on the grill too! LOL
So, I am grateful that I have some teens that can help in the kitchen!
Cause cooking for 9 people can be very exhausting!

My brother wants to be a chef!
He wants to be able to cook anything!!! :D
He tries to practice with different things, but most of the time we do not have the ingredients.
But, he is good at making pancakes. :)
