do you wear eyeglasses?

Traditionally, eyeglasses are primarily used by individuals with refractive errors to correct their visual problems. This would include astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia and presbyopia. Glasses have been associated with nerds and geeks as represented by famous tv characters. But in today's time, precription glasses aren't just used for correcting vision. It has been used in the fashion world as an accessory that would enhance a certain look. Form and function is the name of the game today in the modern world. People wear designer prescription glasses not only to enhance vision but also to look hip and trendy. I personally go for the the latter....to wear something that would serve its main purpose...and a little more.

I wear glasses and I have most of my life. I do think a lot of it especially for the younger generation is style. Most people do have the option to wear contacts if they want to, but some people like me can't or won't wear contacts. Then glasses is a must have and you only have the choice of what kind of style you want to portray.

I wear glasses and have been wearing them since I was two years old. I have severe myopia, so I have no choice. I tried contact lenses when I was a teenager and I hated them. Because my perscription was so strong, I had to get thick lenses back then, and one of them broke off in my eye. Since then, I have been to afraid to try again. Maybe someday.

I have been wearing eyeglasses since my first year in college. From grade .5 now i have 2.75 negative. i even cant see people 10 feet away from me if im not wearing my eyeglasses.

Yes , I used eyeglasses, because my eye blind as mole, but now I saw many people wore eyeglasses for the style. Best regards

yes, i wear glasses and its not for fashion. i am nearsighted and in common parlance, my grade is 250-300 for both eyes. i can only see clearly up to to 5ft and after that, people's faces are blurry already. though i have glasses, i dont wear it every moment. like now, im typing, i dont wear it. i usually wear it in parties, classes or when watching movies. other people use glasses as part of their fashionable get-up and there's nothing really wrong with that. at least the geeky look has gone mainstream, lol

I do wear. The sun glasses while having motor bike ride or while travelling. I don't use contact lenses nor I have some eye sight problem. Well, it seems that now it is a fashioned trait to have sort of plain eye glasses without any eye sight problem. It just attracts the personality, ammmm I think so.

I still have a 20/20vision and im just glad that I dont have to get through the hassles of wering one.

Most people who wear eyeglasses are either near or far sighted. There are those who are neither but wear sunglasses to protect from strong sunlight and UV rays. I wear eyeglasses because I can't see clearly words which are small and are far away. Recently, I am getting far sighted and I need a pair of reading eyeglasses to read at near distance. There are eyeglasses with progressive lens which you can read far and near but they cost very much more.

I do,and my sight is very poor. My left eye is 700 degree, the right one is 550 degree. So I have to wear eyeglasses.

I wera bifocals. I need them for distances farther than 20 feet away. I also need the for reading, as it is blurry. There are so many fashionable styles nowadays, so it isn't that bad.

no i don't wear eyeglasses. my eyes are still fine i guess. i can still see objects that are far away. only two members of my family wear eyeglasses, my mother and my sister. but i sometimes wear them for fashion sense, various shades. They do protect our eyes from UV rays too and that's good. I' tried using colored contact lenses but it was painful so i don't use them.

eyeglasses are really meant to be used for health purposes of the eye and not as a fashion statement. in our culture today, people often wear eyeglasses as a kind of fashion statement and to enhance the look. i do believe that a 20/20 vision eyesight really don't need an eyeglasses even for a fashion statement. how lucky i am not to have any eye defects and i will not wear eyeglasses unless i have a weak eye on my future. hope not to have it.

I wear reading glasses anytime I want to read something, or want to look at something small.. This is just recent within the last three or four years.. and is a sign of getting a little bit older.. I wear my eyeglasses at the top of my head as a sort of hair band.. that way I know where they are, and they are easily accessible every time I need them.. When I first started doing this I would be looking around for my glasses until I remembered, oh yeah, they're on top of my head.. :))

More likely bad sightlessness is a condition that has become more common since we've had the invention of eyeglasses to use as a crutch. Of course, the fact that we now read books with tiny type (like this!) and stare at computer monitors for twelve hours a day can't be terribly healthy either. I believe it is a combination of glasses as not be a bad thing and our environment changing. Some people do wear glasses as a fashion accessory that is how ok it is to wear glasses now.

Excuse me, Mskzalameda, but what do you mean with "eyeglasses"? I think you mean "contact lenses", or not? I'm myope, and so, unfortunately, I have to wear glasses, but I hate glasses, so I wear it only when I drive and when I go to the cinema. I'd like to wear contact lenses, but till now I always feared the fact that I should lean something on my eyes....

i do for distance-i am nearsighted and things are blurry if i don't.i don't wear them all the time though.
