i strongly believe so. looking at the discussions here, i can see that a number of people like me still love the beatles. it's not only their music that made them timeless but also the powerful words they lay on some of their songs.

You are so right. Everytime I listen to a Beatles tune I hear something new. I think we are all craving music with strong lyrical content, real musicianship and music that is not manufactured by the sound engineer in a recording studio. I know you will probably hate me for mentioning this, but did you see how well the American Idols contestants did with British Invasion Music. The music holds up and they were able to sink their teeth into it. Except for Stephanie who was so use to todays R&B crap she could not sing a real melody. Next week 90s music. I predict a disaster because the music was hollow and talent was nonexistent in 90s music.

i agree. the effects they've done w/ their music all came from their heads and from any sound engineer's talent. and yes, music nowadays are so... hollow... but not all of them though

They've been an institution in the music business, and beatles are the foundation of good rock n' roll music. The legacy that they left are still haunting us music lovers and aspiring musicians, and no matter what happens, Beatles will forever be Beatles. The two remaining members are still the most influencial people up to this day, Paul and Ringo are still popular names that carries the Beatles' legacy..

i like the way you said that they are the foundation of rock and roll music. because i believe they are. i think most of the bands formed then and nnow were inspired by this quartet.

Well, I came from a family with good appreciation of music. And whenever we have a family reunion, my uncles ditto with my father and I, would pick our guitars and sing most of their songs. I give credit to them because that's how I appreciate the Beatles, more than their songs. Thanks and keep on rockin'!

I'm sure they will be as popular as they were before. I think that the most amazing thing is that they had ALWAYS been extremely popular, no matter what kind of music they played - they had always been flexible and created good modern songs. I think it's very important for singers and groups to be modern, not to stick to one current for decades, but to change as the time changes.

People still love the Beatles a lot (I am a huge Beatles fan myself.) I'm not really sure they could ever get back to the "Beatlemania" stage they were at when they first came to America, but they could definitely be VERY popular. Not only do they have the older fans from back in the 60s, but there are many people from my generation that are also really big Beatles fans. They have a really catchy sound, and it's a really original sound too, which is what makes them so entertaining.

I think if the Beatles is still a group today they would continue to draw more crowds because of their beautiful music. As they grow older their melody becomes deeper and soulful as well as their inspirational lyrics. There's no generation gap when somebody listen to their music because their music is very appealing to all generation.

It's difficult to say as things have moved on so much since they started out but they wrote and recorded some great songs some of which still sound fresh today so a lot of their music has stood the test of time.

I would like to think they could, but these days popularity in music is so dependent on the record industry's promotion machine. The music's quality wouldn't be good enough. Most of the bands that are popular these days have terrible songwriters, but they have the gimmick that the labels like now. I don't know if The Beatles would be gimmicky enough for the record labels to want to sign them today, but the "1" album did well when the label promoted it.

absolutely, i have no doubt about it. i mean just looking at the number of members in this forum is an example of the popularity of this band. unlike today's bands, they did not had any high tech gadgets or hi-fi instruments to aid their music. but even then they created one beautiful melodies after another. the best thing i like about their music is its simplicity and essence of love. nearly every song that they wrote were based on the beautiful subject of love. even today people love to listen to their timeless classics. they truly are the one of the best bands ever assembled in the pages of history.
