When you are in a public restroom and you hear noises coming out of a stall, what goes through your mind? Do you think "ewww gross" Do you wonder what is going on? Do you laugh out of embarrassment?? Or do you just tell yourself "It's all part of life" and continue what you are doing? I try to tell myself its all part of life but if it happens to me, I get all embarrassed and just want to leave. Lol

Well usually I try to just ignore it. But one time I was in a stall and another woman came in. I of course did not see her and I think she thought she was alone. She was obviously having a problem...she kept saying "come on you can do it...puuuuush, puuuushh...errrrrrrrrrr". Then there was this splash...sound.. and she says "Oh, *sigh* thank god, that was worse than giving birth, phew, I feel better now...*giggling*" then she expelled gas saying "ooh smell ya later"... That was it, I busted up laughing but was afraid to leave the stall...she quickly left probably just as embarrassed as I was...lol

To be honest I'm always in my own little world that when I do go to the toilet I've got my mind on other things, either that or I've obviously got the power of selective hearing LOL! However I was in a stall once and I made this almighty noise that I had to cover my mouth to stop me howling with laughter, this was, I hasten to add in my youth ;0) One wouldn't dream of doing that now!!!

I am of the thought that it is all just a part of life and ignore it. Along the same lines of your discussion, though, I will say it does bother me slightly when people using portable phones do so from within their bathrooms. It is one thing to hear "bathroom noises" in a bathroom, but I do not care to hear such noise coming over my phone! So, anyone out there who did not know, when you are in the bathroom doing your business, your phone will pick up the noise.

I usually laugh to my self if I am in another stall. But if it happens to me I will not even leave until I know that there is no one left in the washroom. I am sure most people do this out of embarrassment. Not as funny when you are the one doing it, but we are all human!

I would not like that either. That is just plain rude for some one to say something like that to you.

LOL - I avoid public restrooms for just that reason. I don't want to know what other people are doing and I certainly don't want others to know what I'm doing. But, the times that it can't be avoided I do realize it's a fact of life but try my best just to ignore sounds and pray nature's calling is quiet for myself.

It's hard to say, I'm usually the one making those noises, lol. Seriously though, when a person in the stall next to me is talking on a cell phone, I will make as much noise as possible just to disrupt their conversation.
