Stupid question about water

Cute, not stupid. Very original question. I put my hand under the faucet to check the water. If it is a sink or a shower or tub, always the hand hits the water first. What do you do?

I usually put my hand in the water to test to see if it is hot yet. sometimes I will just let the water run until I see steem coming from it and then I know it is hot. We have one of those insulated faucets that lets the water out so you really can't put your hand in it to test it. I think the best way to test it is n=by watching for the steem that comes from the hot water that is coming out from the faucet so you do not get burned from it.

i put my hand under the running water to check if it is hot. i dont check on the top of the faucet as sometimes it could be cold and the water is scorching

I hold my finger in the water until it gets warm, when I bother. I often just wait until I can feel it is hot from a distance.

never thought of putting hand on top of the tap - I have always put it under into the water! x

I burn myself almost everytime by sticking my hand under the faucet. They replaced the hot water tank awhile back and the theormast to adjust the temperature is inside, so you can't adjust it. I need to call them. One of these days I am going to end up with a bad burn.

I don't do that if I were you. I will drawthe water into a cup or bottle and touch the surface of the bottle to test if the water is hot or cold.
