I just wanted to let everyone know that Jasper is doing fine. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about here is the discussion link.
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/936432.aspx
I picked him up today and he is finally resting comfortably. He is so jumpy. He runs from us and hides. He just sits and stares at the wall.
I think it is going to take some time for him to learn to trust us again. He is pretty traumatized and I don't blame him one bit.
The tie was on so tight they had to remove his entire scrotum. It also has affected his p*nis. He is able to urinate, thank God. He is on antibiotics for 10 days. He has 8 stitches. It looks so painful. He is on pain meds. for a few days. He is expected to make a full recovery. I just worry about his mental recovery.
I have spoken with a few of my neighbors that I trust and they have not heard anything about any other animals being harmed.
I did report it, although I do not think anything will come of it.
The vet saved the tie and is willing to back me up 100% in court, if we ever find out who did this. He was furious and said he had never seen such a cruel thing done to a cat.
I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I was pretty upset last night and you helped to calm me down.
You guys are the best!!!!

OMG, I am sooo glad that he is OK. I am still in shock over this and it makes me so angry. I am so glad you took him to the vet, the poor little thing. He will be fine though in a in a couple of days, you'll see. He'll forget about it. I'm sure that he'll be a much more spoilt little (indoor)boy now.

I am glad that Jasper is home with you and doing okay. Give him some time and he should be ok. I am so sorry that I couldn't be of more help. I feel bad that I suggested ice and the vet said not to use ice. It was the only thing I could think of. I really hope you find out who did this and they get the punishment they deserve. Thanks for the update.

I just saw this and read your first discussion! I can't believe it! How terrible! There is no end to how cruel some people can be! I'm glad Jasper is okay. He'll probably feel better after a day or so. I'm sure you were beside yourself and feeling totally helpless! Just keep on loving him! I'm sure he'll be back to trusting you guys soon. Poor baby! My gosh! One of our cats one time came home spray painted red! And I thought that was incredible! Poor Jasper! He may just want to stay in for a long time.

Oh that is good that Jasper is ok now but the poor cat have to undergo so much, I do not understand why some people can be so cruel but I would definately take it to court if you can find out who done this to your cat. Yes you will find that you have a lot of support here on mylot to get us through so many tragedies that affect our lives. So I hope that the cat will be ok now and be alright in a few days time.

Oh, hazydazy, I am so thankful to hear from you and know that Jasper will be ok, as least physically. As for mentally, that will take time but please know that he does trust you or he would never have come home to you that night.
Someone gave me an abused dog a long time ago and you just have to have lots of love and patience. With Jasper, you will need to speak in a soft voice, don't make any sudden gestures, pat him gently and let him lie on top of your chest so that he can feel the beating of your heart. He will eventually come around although he may not trust all people which is probably a good thing.
Is there a window where you can put a nice soft blanket on which he might lie and get the heat of the sun? With that, he might not experience the desire to go outside again. Our cats have always loved being inside and have always been content with the sun shining in on them.
Give Jasper a gentle hug for me and please keep us informed of his progress. The two of you are in my prayers and my heart.

I am so glad you were able to get him to a vet and that he is okay. It may take awhile to get him to trust anyone, but once he sees that you are not going to harm him I am sure he will learn to trust you pretty quick.

hazydazy I won't read your link or much of your discussion as I am afraid of what it might be about, I am totally against harm that may come to animals and guess maybe this could be the case here! But am so glad that goodness is coming out of whatever your story may be, hope you understand what I am on about. :)caramello

Hi Hazy!
I'm so glad Jasper is home!
I hope you do find out who did it and they serve some time. What a sadistic thing to do. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
I'm sure he will calm down and be more like his old self once he heals, and you will have your old loving kitty back:)
Take care and cuddle Jasper for me!

that's good to hear. how anyone can be so cruel to a helpless animal is unbelievable. If people hate cats, it doesnt mean they have to hurt or kill them. cats are very peaceful animals, they're not like dogs that roam the street and bite you for no reason or chase you down. goodluck in taking care of jasper. hope he recovers faster.

The past day or so has been really traumatic for him. It'll take time but I'm sure he'll calm down eventually. I'm so glad you've reported this. I hope they find whoever did it and punish them as much as allowed. Give Jasper all kinds of extra love and attention from all of us here and keep us updated on his progress and if anyone gets charged with doing this to him.

i am very glad to hear your cat is okay. i hope they find this person that did this and do the same thing he or she did to the cat so they can feel what that cat felt. i have a friend and when he got one of his dogs i think the dog was abused so he took a sleeping bag and slept near the dog when he woke up the dog was laying near him and after that they dog trusted him. all you can do is give the cat love then in time will come around and be able to trust again.
