1. Colas And Healthy Bones Don't Mix Well
Studies indicate drinking caffeinated, carbonated beverages may increase your risk of suffering a bone fracture. The findings come at a time when per capita consumption of carbonated beverages is rising, making them the preferred beverage of women in the 20-to-40 age range. The problem is compounded because many of these women already have an
inadequate daily intake of calcium, researchers say the study of women who drank two to seven 12-ounce cans of carbonated beverages a day, mostly colas, indicated the main cause of calcium loss from carbonated beverages was their lack of the nutrients needed for bone health, they also say Carbonated beverages displace milk in the diet, eliminating a major source of bone-building calcium, they said.

My second job has a wellness committee, and is offering health education. The nurse educator named three name brand soft drinks that are the worst for bone loss, due to phosphoric acid, and they have that same effect in men, as well. Eliminating them, even if you do nothing else, can increase your bone density. The beverages she named were Coke, Pepsi, and Doctor Pepper.

Wow as usually you are a wealth of information. My mom has that bone thing that starts with an O i can spell it but i believe that it may be an issue with me and that is another reason health wise i have started to exercise and eat right to keep my bones strong and healthy. I do like my diet pop and didnt know it could do that kind of damage so i guess i have yet another health quest getting rid of the soda fettish. Thanks again for the wonderful information you are always posting it changes my life for the better.

Some brilliant information yet again my friend , I will get Ros to read this one , AS you know he has started keep fit at the local Gym and the one thing he has cut down on is his coca cola , he was drinking gallons of the stuff and he is now trying to drink more water ( we have plenty of that here in Scotland ) thanks again pal xx
