How many?

How many discussions do you try to start a day? A week? A month? I'm trying to start at least one discussion a day (here's my first or second), but it's hard trying to post (and with pictures!). My computer is acting up right now (grrrr!) and I have a great picture to add, but for some reason I have a system error! I'll keep posting for now without my picture, but I'll have to find out what's wrong with my 'puter! For now...let's discuss this!

I started a discussion on this subject as well. I used to try to start at least one a week. Now, I just start one when I feel like it. Sometimes, I start two a day, sometimes, I start one a week. I know that other people are having problems with pictures, too, so you're not alone in that regard.

I try to remember to start at least one a week; now it's so hard to think of something! I also haven't figured out what the purpose of the keywords are--are they searchable or something? The problem with my computer is a fatal error with Photoshop--I may have to reboot (I can't start the program). Hopefully I'll be able to do some tinkering tonight and get it fixed.

200 discussions a day? How do you even find time to post 30 a day? I've found it's hard to post thoughtful, insightful discussions that interest others, so I tend to respond mostly to what I'm reading.

I tried to start more than one a day, but my brain hurts now! Besides, I think that most people aren't interested in what I have to say on any given day, LOL. I haven't tested my computer yet, but I think I got a lead on what's happening. Thanks!

Use pc tuning software and anti spyware to check yours system. I think your computer needs to be cleaned up of the temp files too.

Thank you, I haven't tinkered with it today (too much work to do), but I think I may have gotten a lead on what's happening. I had nearly 10% of junk files (temp and more) that I deleted last night (compressing older files I don't use much helped too!).

i don't usually start a discussion everyday... maybe more of at least one per week. whenever i do start a post, i just write anything that i could think of but whenever i read someone else's post which is similar to mine i'd end up not making one. another reason is that, i find it difficult to find a post that would encourage responses. i've had few which only has one or two. this makes me feel sad so i prefer not making one.

Maybe a catchy headline? That usually works...I have also found that looking for older discussions with few to no responses but a boring headline give me ideas. I know it's the lazy way out of thinking of discussions, but every little thing helps (and goodness knows there are a zillion different discussions on here!)

I think the website traffic is heavier at different times...a few times I've caught them in the middle of website maitenance. It's frustrating but they have to do it sometime and with being a global website, it's going to affect someone. But by and large, it's been working fine for me.

I have to say I have not started a discussion for some time .. mainly because I can't find anything interesting enough to post .. and because when I do you can be sure someone will trash it ...

I remember for a while you were posting quite a few...but it's hard to come up with new ideas for discussions, isn't it? Remember a few months ago there were 100's of "What color are your eyes?" discussions started--thank goodness myLot has gotten away from those type of posts! I've also noticed that most of the nonsense responses have gone away too...making it more of a true discussion site!

When i feel of making one actually, one or two a day, but most of the time i am checking for topics that interests me, then respond to the topics that i've chosen.

That's always a good idea--I try to post to several of my friend's discussions as well. I've also been following current events and checking out news sites for new ideas for discussions that I think are interesting (some of them haven't gone anywhere). It's almost like a flavor of the week.

Try reformat most of the time people have a lot of junk in there computer and it causes it to freeze a lot. You should reformat using xp sp2 or use windows vista. I would go with vista but you have to a have a built computer. You can try to clean that stuff out by going to www.download.com and get some spyware cleaners and virus checkers for a free trail. then it should run a little better. Also when your computer starts does it take forever?

Actually, my computer starts up rather fast...I think I may have installed Photoshop incorrectly (at least that's my teacher's opinion!). I know I don't have Windows Vista; my start menu button is green and I always forget which one it is. I'll definitely check out download.com. I did just trash a LOT of old stuff and still have to compress more files; currently I've got over 70% free. Maybe it'll free up after a reboot too.

I just start on or two discussions per day.And I don' want to force myself to post only for the sake of posting.though I begin to learn how to find the most hot topics-the more common, the better:)

I dont worry all that much about starting any amount of discussions daily....I actually only start one when I'm curious about something or feel like getting the opinions of others etc...

Hard at work - Too many hours at the computer
I have actually started two discussions today, something of a first for me really. I seem to find myself drawn into other discussions rather than post my own. I keep telling myself I should try to post more discussions though.

Hi scorpiobabes, My time on mylot has been drastically reduced lately due to other commitments and didn't find any time for posting as I felt that I couldn't respond to all the people wo had posted answers. Before this I used to start at least two per day but now it's dropped down to about two per week until I can find more time to post! Hope you sort out the prob with your puter soon!

I really don't start many discussions. I start one as and when I feel I have something to say lol. I much prefer responding to others discussions. When I do start discussions of my own though I do try to make sure I add a picture. I just feel it makes it more individual and personal, plus pictures can be good in order to let people see how a certain place looks. I haven't had any issues with uploading pictures recently, so maybe it's your computer.

I'm pretty new here still, but I think I would rather start a discussion when I feel strongly about something than set a daily, weekly, or even monthly goal. I do think at least one discussion a month is a good idea, though-to show everyone that you do actually think about some things. LOL
