I'm in my mid thirties. However, once in while, I love to read young adult's literature. These are books written for children or teenagers. I love the Harry Potter series, the Artemis Fowl series, The Series of Unfortunate Events, and so many more. I love the variety and depths of these books and I wonder if there are other adults who read such materials.
If you are one of them, please share your opinions and maybe your favorite choices from this genre. If you are a reader, and have never tried to read such literature, share why they have never interested you.

I definately read young adult books. I'm currently rereading all the Weetzie Bat books by Francesca Lia Block. I'm on book 11 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I am axiously awaiting the final Harry Potter book. I read the first Artemis Fowl but it was only so-so in my opinion. I still go back and reread my Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew, Fear Street, LJ Smith, Patricia C. Wrede and Christopher Pike books. Oh, and Eragon...I'm reading that series too. I prefer fantasy, vampires, fairy tails.

You are like me. I like fantasy adventure stories. I also like vampire stories. Have you read Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan? I read the first book and it seems pretty good. Eragon is on my list but have not gotten around to reading it. The only problem with being an adult, you do not have as much time to read as when you were younger. LOL!

yes, i love to read such books, last to last year, when i was teaching in a school, i used to collect such books from library, unfortunately harry potter was the most readable series in school and to my despair i was not able to read it, although i had always wanted to read it, i read other books like "jungle book", "Dracula",i really enjoyed them

Sure! A good book is a good book regardless of it's level. I work in a library and sometimes I will go through the picture books because they are either a great story or have fantastic artwork. I also read the Anne of Green Gables Stories. I call some of these books "family books" and not just children's books, even though a child can read it.

Well I've read a few of the Harry Potter books... and a few others that I've seen deemed as young adults literature. i liked the Eragon books, and the Alanna quadrilogy aka "Song of the Lioness". They're all good, I don't much care what audience it's *supposed* to be directed at.

You are right. I have discovered many great books out there just because I ignored the fact that I do not belong to its "supposed" audience. You never know how many talented writers are hidden in other genres, until you take the time to check them out.
