Does it bother you when you give a good, quality response and you don't get marked best response?

Yes , it bothers me a lot . Really I feel sad if my deserving response is not seleced as the best and if some other simple response gets it . I also started a discussion on this topic long back ...

No, I'm new and just sort of feeling my way around the site. Maybe most people don't even mark the best responses. Do you ge money for that?

Most people get money for marking and receiving best response as best as I know. I think you get money for just about everything you do here.

i have stopped bothering. I have many times given good responses but only my 3 responses are marked as best one. I think I'm very unlucky also. also there are many discussions that i ve started and have got very few or no replies at all.

I don't know, 3 is pretty good. I don't remember how many I had when I had the same number of points that you have. I'll have to look at your discussions to see why you aren't getting any responses, perhaps I can answer one. But, I can't promise anything.

It does bothes but not too much. Whenever i reply to a post i hope of getting maked as a best response but it never happens all the time. By now i have only got 9 to 10 best responses out of 281 posts i have made. It give a great pleasure when i see my column of best responses growing. It makes you feel that..wow dude ..you did a great job out there.

Wow, you seem to have a lot of best responses for the number of posts that you've made. I'm sure you're off to a good start. Good luck!

it doesn't bother me at all..actually i've been here for quite a while and haven't received or marked as best response.. i thought maybe mylotters are too lazy to read all responses and mark the ones that they think is best for them..lol

Give it more time and you'll get a best response. I don't think I marked anyone's response the first two weeks I was here, either. But, you're kinda right about people reading responses. It seems like a lot of people don't read or comment on any responses in their discussions.

Not at all,i am not expecting here at mylot to be the best..i used to response to posts not thinking of being rated positively and recieve as best response, the important for me is i am sharing my views and opinions in different topics. But if some of my responses are chosen as best then i am grateful.

Are you talking about when you don't get credit from Mylot? Sometimes that has happened to me and I don't know why. I know that Mylot using some kind of earning algorithm to determine payment. So, I can't help you there.

it actually doesn't affect me that much..i mean i understand if they don't want my answer but what would be really great is if i don't get the best response, well at least rate me with a +..^_^ won't that be great..??

Oh yeah, I give nearly everyone a positive rating. The only times I give out a negative one is for people who violate guidelines, post something abusive, or totally give an answer not related to the discussion.

I am always assounded when I get a best response! Not that I don't often work very hard on most of my responses, but that someone appreciates it when I do!

That's the way I feel. I often wonder if my response was that good, as well. I am always grateful!

Hey, thanks! Nice to see you. I'm glad so many people aren't bothered by it. It makes it easier to mark someone and not be worried that someone else was going to get very upset by it and quit Mylot.

I don't always deserve one. So I don't get upset. But when I do, I am truly honored

Well, to be honest not really, Its quite possible that the best i have given may not be the best the person is expecting. Ive been given a best response when i didnt expect it too because i was quite new at that time. There are many factors.. say perhaps there are two friends who always post in each others discussions and usually mark the others as the best..which may be quite fair if they understand each others mind that well.. But still there are chances that a more deserving post may go unrewarded.

I agree, there are many factors. I know when I am having a hard time choosing, I may give it to a friend, but not always. If someone else really gave a good response, then I choose them.

Thanks. I'm assuming that you mean if no one marked you with a best response and not that no one is marked best response on discussions you started. Of course, it is dangerous to assume things here.

Of course I hope to be someone's best response, but I have to say NO it doesn't bother me if the person that started the discussion feels someone elses response is more the answer they were looking for. Just keep trying to give quality answers and hopefully someone will select your answer as the best sometime.

Honestly it only matters to me when I feel I have the best response and someone with a poor response gets best response. I reply for the sake of replying and not always for the best response so I don't really care, but like I said it does bug me when I have a better response than the one getting it. But I like to respond to my friends when I can. Lately I have been so busy with my clients and new clients I can't even get the energy to come to myLot. I will try to do better though.

I think you also gave a good answer. I agree, if someone gave a poor answer and gets a best response, I often wonder.

It doesn't bother me at all. Sometimes I don't find a discussion until after it's been awarded. I'll go ahead and respond because someone can still read it and be impacted by it. Other times, someone else's response meets the original poster's intentions better than I did, even if I thought my response was right on. I don't really think it matters, so why should I let it get to me?

That's true with me, too. Often, the best response was already given when I answer. I mostly get annoyed, though, when someone marks best response about five minutes after they post the discussion. But, that's their choice, I guess.

Thanks. I usually don't think of it in that way, but I was wondering because there were a couple of times where I thought I should have been marked best response, but someone else was instead. I was wondering if anyone got really upset about it.

No, I'm not that competitive. I think it's more of a self-esteem thing with me. I just wonder what's wrong with my response?

I can understand that. Are you a competative person? Might be why you want to get best response.

Not really... what's important for me is the content of my answer and how it can help or give information to the discussion starter. Me, I always rate positively users who respond to my discussions as a sign of gratitude. But when it comes to choosing for the best response, I always give it to the most helpful and informative.

You also have a good attitude. I was wondering about this because there have been a few discussions where I felt strongly that I gave the best response and it was given to someone else. But, I guess it's up to the person who started the discussion.

I haven't really been around long enough to appreciate whether or not getting best response is important, however I sometimes feel a little disheartened if I post a quality response and it simply goes unaknowledged.

I know, I hate it when the person starting the discussion doesn't even acknowledge your post. I think a lot of people think you don't get credit for responding back because your post number next to your name doesn't go up.
