Do you have trouble with the little screws coming loose in your eyeglasses or sunglasses and making the ear pieces loose?
Tighten all the screws up and then cover them with a dot of clear fingernail polish. It will hold the screws in place and won't allow them to work loose.

This sure works for me and I highly recommend it. I do this right after getting my new glasses. Back when I was in college, one of my teachers suggested it, as I lost the screw during one of my classes and everyone in class spent 20 minutes hunting for it. This was so embarrassing that I was certain it wouldn't happen again.

My future son in law actually gave me this idea. I loved it, and my husband and daughter have both done it to their glasses.

wow! thanks for the advise, i keep having that problem with my glasses, I really don't know why it comes loose when I never touch them but i'll take your advise and that's one big problem solver for me. I've spent some amount having to replace lost screws in my glasses, not to mention the frustration you get when again you lost one of those nose caps or whatchamacallits...thanks

You know I actually got this tip from my daughter's fiancee. The ear piece on hubby's glasses had gotten really loose because of a loose screw, and he asked if we'd ever tried it. I was amazed that it actually worked!

That is what we have done before. Also taking care of your glasses and putting them on and off properly will enable those glasses to last until you get new ones. Check out my profile and there is a link there that will save you on new glasses. All you need is your prescription and you have have good glasses alot cheaper. My bifocals only cost me 138 dollars. Trying to help however I can. Thanks for sharing this tip with us at Mylot.

We have great vision insurance. My daughter's contacts are only $6 a pair. My hubby's new glasses cost us $25. I am going to share the link with my mom though. Thanks!

They told me this after I kept returning to have my glasses repaired. I had not had them a week when I lost one of the screws. I have really thick glasses and this works but I still have to keep an eye on them and add new polish from time to time. I guess they got tired of me comeing to have the screw repaired.LOL

I was especially prone to losing the screws, because I only use mine for reading, so while I'm at work, they are being taken off and on alot. So this works the screws loose a lot faster.

Thank you for the advise that does sound like a good
idea and helpful too. Once you loose those little
screws forget it I cannot get them back in and I am
very happy that I have this little screw driver for
eyeglasses but it does not help when you have lost the
little screw. Thanks for the idea you suggested.

no, we spent over an hour looking for one that belonged to a little one at church, because she was so upset that she had lost it. She was afraid her mom was going to be mad at her! Bless her heart. Mom just laughed and told Maddie that they had another screw at home. I told her about the nail polish, and yesterday she told me that she had used it on both of her daughter's glasses!
