I'm amazed every time I hear the words uttered by kids in this town: "There's just nothing to do here but get high and Fu**!" What is it with Long Island? Why do we have high school age kids roaming the streets, packed in cars, drunk, yelling slurs out of the rolled down windows? Can't they think of a more constructive way to waste their time? Several times a year I am verbally asaulted by teenagers. I walk to the store to get odds and ends because I prefer not to drive everywhere. My village is a small one, and relatively safe, but screaming passers-by in cars makes me wonder. I don't look strange. I'm a female in my 40s with long hair and a reasonable figure. So why are they yelling? When I was their age, I'd never do such a thing. So tonight I was walking ot my local 7-Eleven, and as soon as I entered the parking lot I saw a black SUV, obviously overloaded with partiers. A big youth with his head shaved, wearing an undershirt and a giant chain of bling-bling around his neck leaned out of the passenger side window and screamed "AUUUUUUUUUU!" to which I just nodded in a friendly manner. He then leaned out further and continued, "What the f*** are you doing, wearing your stuuuuupid pink pants? What the f*** do you think you're doing, you fa**ot?!" First of all, I was wearing dark maroon sweatpants. Certainly not a crime. Second of all I can't be a "queen", when I'm a female, for gosh sakes. They drove off still screaming taunts. I'm thinking the boy needs glasses. ;) Do teenagers scream stupid things out their car windows in your neighborhood? Have you done this prank, and why?
