I am 28 years old and want to learn swimming. Is this possible. I know slight things about floating by holding something.

Dear roshani chaudhary madam if you would be in pune, then I would have taught you swimming within a day. (or in four hours to be precise) It's the part of self confidence which works more than any thing else. Try in the shallo side of the swimming pool with the help of some floaters in the beginning and after 2-3 days try without the floaters you can learn yourself even. I can teach even without the floaters whithin few hours I have taught to so many. Do it with confidence I am sure you can learn in a week maximum. All the best from oarnamav.

I was teaching swimming during summer whilw I was in college, I once had a 30 year old woman as a student. She was so hesitant because she was shy that she's already old but she can't swim. I just said to her that is she continues to be hesitant and shy, most probably she will never learn swimming. Yes it's a little hard to teach older people because their limbs are not flexible like kids but I managed to teach her the freestyle before the first week ended. So don't lose hope, you just need to find a good instructor, check first if the instructor is capable of teaching people your age by watching the instructor during his/her lessons.

You can learn to swim at any age. Find a personal swimming instructor & you'll learn, or if that's too costly, ask a family member or friend who can swim, to show you a few things, you'll pick them up & the more practise, the better you'll get! One of the first things you'll learn is how to float on your own - you don't need anything to float - the body just does it, all you need to do is relax. Good luck with your swimming, it's great exercise & is definitely VERY enjoyable!

Hi, of course you can learn to swim when you are 28 years young. I am a swim instructor and I have thought people who are 60 years and older. They didn't even know anything about floating to begin with. If they can do it you can too! Where there's a will, there's a way. Go to your local swimming pool and ask if they do swimming lessons for adults. Good luck, you can do it!

I think that anyone can learn how to swim no matter what their age. I hope you will look into it. I think that it is important to know how to swim. There may be things that you miss out on if you can't swim. Good look to you!
