Up until now, I have been unaffect personally by the pet food recall. Meaning that I didn't feed my pets any of the brands that were being recalled. It has angered and upset me that so many people and pets have been harmed throughout this ordeal by the negligence of others. Now, I just read and confirmed through the website that certain dog biscuits are being added to the recall. One of the brands is one that I feed my dogs and have been feeding them for years. They get several of these "cookies" a day. I even confirmed the UPC code on the back of my bag. I am scared now. Here is the article, check out your animal treats and make sure they aren't poison to your pets as well.

Hi friend...no I don't think Meaty Bone was on the list, if my memory serves me correctly. Purina seems to be an okay brand as well. We feed our dogs Pedigree. It was the biscuits that I was feeding them, Ol'Roy brand from Walmart. There were several other brands listed though. I would keep trying the list on and off, just to make sure though. Thanks for your input. I am glad your pets are faring okay.

I know how you feel!!I need to buy dogfood today and so far the brand I feed has not been listed, but how will I know if it's not going to be recalled a couple of days from now?
It's really scary and having to worry if your pet is going to be okay or not, simply because you fed them something you thought was good for them.
I was shocked to see, that one of the brands just listed,is a dog biscuit that I normally give to my dogs.I'm just thankful that I had not had the time to get some more and my dogs had not had any of them for a while.
Thanks for the link,it sure saved me the time to have to look for it myself.
I hope your dogs are okay!!!

Well we were using twin pet for a long time but I have gone back to Ol Roy by Wal-mart but of course nto one of the recalled ones. They aren't even selling that style. The treats though we got at Sam's Club. That one doesn't seem to be listed anywhere and the bag is almost gone so I'm really hoping it wasn't one. So far our dog has been fine and nothing wrong but I'm still keeping an eye on all the pets to make sure.

Good, I am glad your pets are all okay emerald. I think this is such a tragic situation. I can't believe they just keep adding and adding to the recall list. Thanks for your input.

I have not heard about the dog biscuts yet. Thanks for the heads up. Its all quite confusing actually. I purchase dog food and feed it to my dogs. I do not have the containers to check. I don't think we have been affected by any although I have purchased some of the brands....again I don't have containers to check any numbers tho. My older dog was acting strange about 3-4 weeks ago....wandering aimlessly around the house within 1-2 hours after eating for about 1 week...she would walk anxiously around the whole house kind of like she was bothered by something and couldn't seem to sit and rest. It was annoying and I chalked it up to her getting old (she is 12) and figured something was going on there. BUT all of the sudden she stopped doing this....didn't really think much of it then...but now I have to wonder did she have some of this food and was it affecting her?

It very well could have been the food. It really makes me wonder what all really does go into these processed foods we feed our animals and ourselves. Even though the package says one thing, there can be a number of other additives to that one thing that don't have to be disclosed? It doesn't make good sense to me. I am glad your gal is okay. My oldest dog is 14, and I guess she is doing okay for the moment. No more Walmart cookies for her though. Glad you shared your experience with us. Thank you.

I heard about the recall on certain dog biscuits on the radio today and, thankfully, I don't have to worry about my dog cause I make all his biscuits myself. He's spoiled on them and won't eat store-bought ones anymore. I did, however, contacted several of my friends and customers to alert them to the recall and couple of them called their vet immediately for check-ups cause they have been giving the recalled treats to their dogs. I'm praying that your dogs and others will come out of this tragic ordeal safely. I feed my dog Purina O.N.E. or Goodlife and my cats all eat Purina O.N.E. or Purina Naturals and of course, Tigger is on the Purina O.N.E. kitten formula. None of which are recalled.

Would you mind posting the recipe for you dog treats. Perhaps as a discussion. I am sure that many myLot pet owners would really appreciate it; in light of this latest recall. I hope everyone's babies come out okay. Thanks so much for your sharing.

It's gotten so that now I look at the ingredients on each pouch of cat food to see if there is wheat gluten in it. The brands we use have not been recalled, but a friend of ours lost one cat to this, and the other is sick because of it. So scary! I'd be heartbroken if I lost my little guy!

I don`t give my Dog treats , not from a bag anyways .
I give him real bones , bread He loves carrots and apples , well He loves all human foods so I call what ever I give Him treats .
He doesn`t care what it is as long as he gets something from my hand to His mouth , thats all that matters to Him ...
Thank-you for sharing this with us ....

It has been quite stressful and scary. I hurt so much for all the people and animals that got affected by all this. It is so very sad.
I posted some dog treats to make from scratch. Hope you got a chance to see them. Thanks for the great posting. I have rated you once again, + for it.

I've been keeping a close watch on the pet recall thing. It seems as if everyday they are adding something new. Its very scary. I hope your dogs don't get sick. This recent recall included biscuits that I give my dogs too but luckily we haven't had the extra money to buy any. I wonder if the list we be longer tomorrow.

We keep them always, the dogs always get a beditme cookie from "daddy". Guess they won't be getting one tonight. I am glad your dogs are okay. I am going to make a vet appointment. So far they seem fine though. Thank you for your concern. It will probably keep being added to from what I can tell. It's sad and terrible.

we really need to do something about this. as pet owners I'm sure all of us love our pets so much to the point we spent thousands of dollars to make sure they are healthy and taken care of. These selfish shameless people are making money out of killing our pets and who knows what else have gotten into humans food these days. is there a way to stop this and avoid it from happening again? I'm so upset and afraid for my cat's health!

I had to throw away 2 bags of treats because of this and now of course comes the worry of what if. I am watching my dogs since they had just had a treat before the recall became public. Sickening what is happening with this.

I am a bit behind with this trouble - I did not realise there was a problem with dogfood. News is always so bad I have given up watching. MyLot will be great for keeping me up to date. I thought we were not supposed to mix dog's food but feed them the same every day. However, I have never been much good at sticking to this and he gets bits of ours - perhaps I should stick to just doing that for him. Sorry to hear of members' pets dying because of this. My thoughts are with them.

Here we go again! I have been fortunate so far. My dog doesn't care for anything but Milk Bone brand. I am restricting him to dry food, biscuits and an occasional tidbit of my food.
I have made dog biscuits in the past and I am going to go back to making them. I hope that everyone who is struggling with this issue will keep up to date and check out alternative items on the market. It is really a that we don't use wheat gluten from our own country. Especially after the mad cow problem in the past.
Thank you for posting this report since I was not up to date on this one!

Thank you for posting this information. I had not heard this. I have to go buy dog food this afternoon. I am sure the price will be up, and the selection will be small. I will have to look for the upc for my treats.
